Garrulus glandarius

It so happened that for several days in a row I had to find myself next to a small square near the children's polyclinic of our city and. every time, I found in this square a lone jay that did not leave the limits of this small park the size of half a football field.

This is a young bird and I have no idea how she ended up here alone, without her parents which I have not seen.

She looked very lonely, like a person stranded on a desert island.

Most of the time, the jay was digging in the tree bark, looking for various bark beetle larvae, but, on this day, her peace was disturbed.

A huge flock of rooks flew in, and, after it, a lot of jackdaws.

The rooks sat on the tops of the trees, and the jackdaws ran along the ground and, all of them, shouted loudly, shouting over each other.

It was probably stressful for the jay, and she did not know how to behave in this noisy company.

Jay began to quietly sing something along with her tray, in the hope that she would be heard and accepted into the flock, but these were very cautious and hopeless steps.

For rooks and jackdaws, the jay did not exist, they did not hear it, or pretended not to hear it.

Watching the jay, at some point, it seemed to me that she was about to shed a tear.

It is probably very difficult to be in a noisy and friendly society that does not pay any attention to you and is busy with its own affairs.

All these experiences completely hid me from the eyes of the jay and I could walk around the tree on which she was sitting and take photographs.
