How to Create and Maintain Strong Friendships

Looking back to how far I have actually come in life, I have come to discover that I can't be a one man army and still go far in life. You need people around you whether you like it or not. Some of them are families but that is not what I want to talk about. I mean the aspect of Friends.

Whether we like it or not, friendship is actually a major factor that can decide whether we will be successful in life or not. There are some friends that you will have which they will influence you positively and there are some friends you will have in life that they will influence you negatively depending on the type you actually have.

The issue affecting a lot of us today is that we are no longer having the power to tolerate something's any longer and during the process, we miss out on some vital friendships. Everyone of us must have strong friendships in our lives whether we like it or not. When I am talking about strong friendship, I mean the positive ones.

I have heard a lot of people telling me that they always find it hard to build or even sustain quality friendship around them. And the truth is most of those people like that, it is actually because they find it hard to be open and approachable. It will be easy for you to actually make friends with others if you yourself are really friendly. If you are not friendly, it will definitely be difficult for people to even approach you to be friends with them.

Earlier I was talking about the need to be very careful of anyhow friends that you actually keep. That is really true. You need to make friends with people that have common interests. When I am talking about common interest, I mean common goals. You need to make friends with people that are going in the same direction with you in life if not you will actually fizzle out. Make sure that you are friends with people who are heading in the same direction you are going in life.

I was in that shoe several years ago. I personally, I am someone that loves making friends and so because of that, I begin to be friends with lots of people. Along the way, I discovered it actually affected me negatively because I made friends with some people which we did not share the same vision. They really influenced me negatively to take some wrong decisions in life which to today, I am still dealing with regrets. Make sure that people you are friends with are people that share the same goal with you.

There are some friendship I have built in ten years which I am still maintaining till now. Probably you are someone that is struggling with maintaining quality friendship for a long period of time. You need to understand that every friendship is maintain when there is constant and effective communication. Try to always be in touch with your friends as time goes on. You can either make use of phone calls, texts or even several means. Just make sure that you are in constant communication with your friends.

Not even only been in contact with my friends, I always make sure that I constantly appreciate them. Constantly show appreciation for your friends. You can appreciate them for several reasons. It can be because of what they have done in your life, the advice, counsel and even probably the gifts. Just find a way of constantly appreciating your friends because it will go a long way to sustain the friendship. The more you show appreciation to your friend, the more they are actually so eager to be friends with you.

If only many of us can see, it is not really difficult to sustain friendship as many people struggles. If only we can just put in place some certain structures and systems that can help us. Friendship plays a very important role in our life and if we are to have strong friendships, we must have the right positive friendship.
