Beauty of Creativity : Eristalinus taeniops - Syrphid flies
**Hello all #BeautyOfCreativity members, wherever you are I hope you are all healthy and happy.
I found a big fly which is a kind of Eristalinus taeniops who was flying in the flower garden in front of my house, I immediately took aim at my flagship cellphone camera to capture some moments of the fly.
Adults are robust to slender flies 1/8 to 1 inch (4–25 mm) long, varying by species. The broad head is about the width of the abdomen or wider and has large eyes with distinct antennae.
The hairy, stout, black and brown adults of Eristalis tenax are commonly named the drone fly because they resemble male honey bees, which are called drones.
But unfortunately the moment was only momentary and i just took some photos the fly flew away and left me.
Eristalinus is a genus of hoverfly. Most species have very distinctive eye marking in the form of spots or banding, though these features may fade on some preserved specimens. Most are stout flies, and are nimble flyers, even compared to other hoverfly species.
Eristalinus taeniops is a species of hoverfly, also known as the band-eyed drone fly.
