Hi everyone! Here’s my artwork for this year’s Halloween. It’s inspired from the “ghost emoji (👻)” which made teens had gone crazy taking photos wearing white sheet with sunglasses on.

And to make my artwork more aesthetic, I used neon colors for the sunset and 👻.

WORK IN PROCESS:

• First, I used washi tape for my border then used drawing pencil to draw an outline as guide for my subject.

• Next, I started to paint the background (sky) by wet on wet technique using violet.

• Then, added white on the lower part of the skies, applied same color to the main subject and used full black for the wall with bushes.

Adding white makes a lighter color on dark. This works for shadowing technique and if you want to make it darker, mix with light gray or the same dark color you used (mine, I used same shade of violet for the linings).

• I continued painting black for the sunglasses then added neon pink, orange and white for the sunset palette.

• Afterwards, I used fine brush soaked in black to paint this little flock of birds.

And lastly, use white paint to make it more lively. You will see the big difference.

I did a little retouch for the last part. I added more vibrant color (pink) and removed some blemishes using white paint then balanced the color of violet.

And that’s it! I abruptly removed the washi tape to see if it really works since it’s my first time to use it yet there’s a little smudge on the top right but it doesn’t affect that much. 🥰

Excuse the mess hence that’s how the real beauty goes in creativity! 💟
