The lazy Simba and the prominent elephant
As everyday brings different experiences in our lives, my last safari in Murchison falls national park in Uganda became very special with this elephant and lioness. I was able to capture them on the same spot a few meters from each other and while the lioness was looking lazy and tired after some failed attempts on the Uganda kobs, a trumpet noise was heard close by which was of an elephant. This elephant was hidden in the thickets but later came out . I sometimes prefer black and white photos than colored as you can always see more details than on colored ones.
The name "Simba"is a Swahili word meaning a lion and is now popularly used by most of the safari guides and tourists while in wildlife trips.
As most of the photographers here know how long and tricky it takes to finalize the post processing, I was able to bring it out doing some light corrections on my software "Photoshop ". I always set well my camera while capturing wildlife and birds however in some situations where light is not stable, the photos are captured while dark or brighter changing their actual appearance. Light is a powerful tool to first consider while taking photographs and that is where most of us are teased when it comes to natural light balance.
They are some softwares that help in that and one that has saved me is Photoshop and Lightroom. You can adjust light levels and correct your photo adjustments for a better and clear outcome.
It was in the evening after heavy rains since that morning and the golden light rays from the sunset were on for a very short time. I was struggling with positioning and trying to set my ISO higher to achieve a sharper image. I was trying to capture as many photos as possible before the golden light disappears and reaching my room to check, most of the shots were blurry, others dark and others very sharp but with bush obstructions. I finally got only one which was better and clearer that I corrected in my software to get light balanced.
I always feel happy if I share my work with public and see how beautiful nature can be and also learn that conservation is vital.
I shared these photos to show you how beautiful our universe is if we conserve nature and wildlife.
I will be sharing more photos and details about guidelines how you can achieve them and enhance your skills of photography.
I will keep you posted and hope you love the idea.
