Beauty of Creativity "Brazilian Skipper (Calpodes ethlius)" 10% to shy-fox
Good Day Everyone,
Hello, dear community members, I hope you all are well. Today I am sharing some photographs of a moth. It is a stage of butterfly and after it becomes a beautiful full butterfly. Here is some additional information about it. You can explore it by clicking on the source link.
Calpodes ethlius, often known as the Brazilian skipper, greater canna leafroller, or canna skipper, is a Hesperiidae butterfly. It can be found from southern Florida to southern Texas in the United States, as well as in the West Indies, Mexico, and Central America, all the way to Argentina. North to southern Nevada, northern Texas, Illinois, and Massachusetts, strays and transitory colonies can be found.
Canna flaccida, Canna indica, Canna edulis, and Canna lutea are among the Cannaceae plants that the larvae eat. The larvae roll the leaves of their host, decreasing the ornamental canna's aesthetic appeal. Later instar larvae may feed so heavily on leaves that plants fail to bloom. Plants that have been severely defoliated, such as arrowroot, may produce very little harvestable rhizome.
