MACROPHOTOGRAPHY - DAMSELFLIES
Hello everyone,
The life span of damselflies varies by species. The amount of time spent with nymphs on the aquatic stage depends on temperature, light and availability of food. As adults, they can last for several weeks or for several months. In general, however, tropical species spend less time in the aquatic stage and more time in the adult stage than moderate species.
Damselflies are very beautiful and profitable predators because they help control the population of harmful insects. Adults consume a large number of insects such as flies, mosquitoes and moths and some beetles and insects. One way to avoid this is to avoid using pesticides properly. Damselflies are also a very important group of insects in riverine and pond ecosystems.
They are often used as an indicator of whether the water is clean or polluted. The quality of the environment can be monitored by damselflies because their existence is greatly influenced by various factors such as water, pollution and vegetation.
