Steamed cake made with khirsa and milk
Winter really brings the excitement of making Bahari Pitha in everyone's home. Especially, no Bengali family forgets to taste Bhapa Pitha.
Everyone loves to eat Bhapa Pitha mixed with date molasses and coconut. But this time, to enhance the taste of Bhapa Pitha, mix it with khirsa and milk. Let's know the recipe-
Ingredients
- 2 cups of dry rice powder
- Half a teaspoon of salt
- 2/3 cups and half a liter of cow's milk
- 3 green cardamoms
- 1 cup of milk powder
- Half a cup of grated coconut
- Raisins in quantity
- Cashew nuts in quantity and
- Date jaggery in quantity.
Method
Take rice powder in a bowl and mix salt in it. Then mix 2/3 cup of cow's milk which has been boiled with thick water with the rice powder. Now cover the mixture and keep it for 4-5 hours.
On the other hand, heat half a cup of milk in a pan. Mix in 3 cardamoms. Now stir the milk continuously until it reduces by half. Keep the flame of the stove on medium.
Now mix one tablespoon of rice powder with 2 tablespoons of milk. Pour this mixture into the thick milk. Stir well again. The khirsa is ready when it is completely thick.
After 4-5 hours, strain the rice powder mixture using a steel strainer. Slowly strain the powder with your hands. Now mix in the blended milk.
