HELLO MY DEAR FRIENDS, ,😊😊

I first thought of writing a article on marine pollution, but first you need to understand how important this ocean is to our lives.

Once you understand that, you will realize how much this ocean affects the lives of the oceans.
Everyone thinks that the source of the oxygen we get is the tree forests around us.
But think, where do people and animals get the oxygen they need in desert climates, such as Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates?

In fact, the ocean produces between 50% and 80% of the oxygen our planet needs..So you should pay special attention to the trees, the forests as well as the ocean.
Because marine pollution reduces the amount of oxygen we all need.

Not only that, it is affecting the whole earth in a way you never thought possible.
But in many parts of the world today, we see pollution from factories, and pollution from large passenger and cargo ships pollutes our oceans.

However,The international maritime organization has imposed special rules and regulations for this purpose. The
MARPOL is a set of rules and regulations specifically designed to prevent pollution.
So today I am going to mention the extent to which the International Maritime Organization is trying to prevent marine pollution.
They have specially designed rules for this through Marpol .Let's first look at what marpol is.

What is the Marpol..?

MARPOL is a major international convention aimed at preventing ship pollution due to emergencies or emergencies.

This is another important agreement between SOLAS and MARPOL, which regulate the shipping industry to adhere to minimum standards for the protection of marine life.

The MARPOL Convention was adopted in 1973 and was amended by the 1978 Protocol in response to a number of tank accidents that occurred during that time.
Therefore, this shipping ensures that environmental damage is minimized as a mode of transportation, and points are clearly pointed out to ensure that the marine environment is protected by removing pollution from all harmful substances that can be disposed of by the ship.

It currently includes six technical attachments, and many attachments include special areas with strict control over operational discharges.

Let us now see what these 6 attachments are and the details about them.

Annex I
Regulations for the Prevention of Pollution by Oil.

It deals with the prevention of contamination by oil spills as well as accidental discharges, and the 1992 amendment made it mandatory for new oil tankers to have dual hulls, which were later amended in 2001 and 2003.

Annex II
Regulations for the Control of Pollution by Noxious Liquid Substances in Bulk

This Appendix describes the criteria and steps required to control contamination by bulk synthetic materials, and for the convenience of obtaining permission to dispose of technical contaminants at certain concentrations and conditions (subject to variation depending on the material).

Annex III
Prevention of Pollution by Harmful Substances Carried by Sea in Packaged Form.

This appendix contains the general requirements for the issuance of detailed standards for documentation, storage, size limitation, packaging, marking, labeling, exceptions and notifications.

Annex IV
Prevention of Pollution by Sewage from Ship.

The importance of this section is to control pollution in the sea by waste.

Sewage discharge into the sea is prohibited and more than 12 wastes should be disposed of when an approved waste treatment plant is operational, except when disinfected waste is disposed of.

Annex V
Prevention of Pollution by Garbage from Ships.

Determine the different types of garbage, the distance from the land and how it can be removed. The most important thing here is to completely ban the dumping of all kinds of plastics into the sea.

Annex VI
Prevention of Air Pollution from Ships.

This component limits the emissions of sulfur oxides and nitrogen oxides from ship exhausts and inhibits the emission of azone-emitting liquid. In addition, mitigation of greenhouse gas emissions includes mandatory technical and operational energy efficiency measures.

So I think today you will get a rough idea about marpol. We will meet again with another valuable content like this.

Thank you.. 😊😊
