RE: Well, this is a surprise... [burnsteem100]

Maybe his subsequent posts add some relevant context?

Not sure I like where he's going with these later posts, though. It all sounds fairly Utopian until you realize that - in these scenarios - humans will be competing with AIs and robots for resources like energy and materials (assuming that "citizenship" includes the right to own property).

IMO, if machines are ever allowed to own property, human survival may be threatened. Machines and the resources that they control need to always be under human ownership.

Well I, for one, welcome our new robot overlords. ;)

While I'm skeptical about AI generated content on this chain, it might be an interesting experiment if they gave an AI agent some power and let it interact autonomously, e.g. maybe they could turn over control of some or all of the steemcurator accounts to AI agents and let them try to promote the health of the chain.

Elon wrote on Twitter recently that eventually most communications will be AIs talking to AIs. I agree with him. Like it or not, I think Steem needs to somehow find a way to thrive in that reality. I think the fundamental goal needs to be shaping AI so that it satisfies human needs and desires.

Based on his subsequent two posts on X, I guess he's got more in mind than just content creation and curation, but if it's going to harness Steem's unique strengths, I guess one or both of those things need to be significantly involved in whatever he's planning.

Wow!

Some of what he says, I can buy into.

But the point at which I’m questioning what it means to be human, because of technology like blockchain… is the point that I turn my back on technology like blockchain.
