What will you do in the grave for thousands of years
What will you do in the grave for thousands of years?
Let me tell you a method that has worked very well for me and has helped me focus more on my relationship with God.
The grave is scary, except for the righteous, obviously.
I thought about it, and now I am 54 years old, and I am tired of the world and its things. Well, what will I do when I go to the grave and be alone, for hundreds of thousands of years?
Have you ever imagined it?
So I started doing the following:
Behold, I shall die, and I shall have an empty, utterly dark grave.
That grave would need supplies, so I began to imagine each Istighfar as sending him to my grave to wait for me there and be a companion to my loneliness.
By God, I'm not kidding.
I have started the process of fully decorating my grave.
I am filling a corner of the grave with thousands of hymns.
Here would be the Quran near my head which I used to read daily would make for a comfortable bed.
I perform each bow imagining that I am making it my treasure in the grave.
Everyone will leave me and go to their homes, and I will be alone for perhaps thousands of years. My children will have forgotten me in a few years.
Therefore, I will need companions, lights, and heaven-like scenes in the grave.
I imagine Tasbihat, Zikr, Quran, Namaz and Sadaqah all with me that they will be my friends, laughing and talking with me there.
I have made salutations to the Prophet ﷺ an important part of my daily routine, it will also be included in our gatherings like cold water, like beautiful clothes.
I want the life of my grave to be more beautiful than the life of this world. God willing
