Veggie Dog?
Lil big thief in my backyard!
Vegetables are healthy
Everyone knows that fresh vegetables are healthy. That it is fairly easy to grow those vegetables yourself in your garden is also known to more and more people. And that you don't have to be a wizard to get that done is clear. Especially when you consider that even I, as a blonde, can do that.
But can be poison to dogs
But what not everyone knows is that fresh vegetables are not always healthy for your dog! There are vegetables and fruits that are very healthy for us, but that are pure poison for your dog. So that is something to keep an eye on if you grow vegetables yourself, and your dog has the opportunity to participate. Because dogs are very smart in many things, they really have no idea what they can and should not eat. And as an owner you don't want to experience your dog being poisoned by something he can eat from the garden.
The dogs can score everything I grow
Ever since I started growing vegetables myself, I always paid attention to the types of vegetables I was going to grow. Because I have to keep everything in bins here on the paved yard, the dogs have every chance to score something. So that's also something I should pay attention to ...
Skipper decided he wanted to add Zucchini to his menu
For example, you think you are going to eat a fresh stuffed zucchini today. Did all the shopping for that this morning. And then you go outside with the dogs for a while. Play together, and as soon as I see that they are really doing well, I will take the laundry out of the machine to hang up. I come back out and see Skipper. That is not surprising of course, but what he has between his legs is not immediately clear to me. A closer inspection reveals that Skipper has also decided to add FRESH vegetables to its menu.
He has just scored the extra large zucchini from the plant and is enjoying it!
I think it's humor
And despite the fact that I had deliberately let the zucchini grow bigger AND wanted to pick it for dinner today, I still had to laugh a lot.
Lex, Rowan, Myla, Lana ... and now Skipper
In the past I have seen Lex score many strawberries, while they were still green they were taken off the plants by Lex and Rowan as well. I've laughed when I watch Lana pull the gooseberries right off the thorny plants. I once caught Myla digging out a garlic ... but a dog that takes a large fresh zucchini right off the plant? I have never had or seen it before.
Congratulations on YOUR zucchini Skippyboy…
I hope you liked it a lot! I'll make up something new for dinner today
