My old friend... There is a lot behind this picture, first that this land turtle ...

... called Morrocoy in Venezuela, I found it in a small exploration in my old place of residence, where I took advantage of the planting and take beautiful macro photography of different flowers of my crops and some insects that lived there.
By surprise in one of my explorations I got this endangered land turtle. It was in good condition and I decided to keep it to ensure its survival since one of the main threats is that it could be captured to eat. Yes! You read that right. This turtle is highly sought after in the south of Venezuela to consume its meat. During Holy Week a gastronomic dish is prepared which has meant that during years of exploitation its population has been affected to the point of being on the red list of animals in danger of extinction.
With this photograph I pay homage to this beautiful animal trying to document its life and beauty.
