I've had a long and difficult discussion with my Pakistani ex about her. He was believing she was staged by her father, who was writing the speeches for her and, according to my ex, also was responsible for the shooting by hiring someone to do it.
Absolute bull, obviously it never happened the way my ex sees it, but it most likely shows what more conservative people were saying in their social circle.
Telling that the father is responsible for her speeches take the power back from woman and put in the hands of "more intelligent" man. Story about staging everything for money, takes the reason of women rights out of the table, as less important, and changes topic into universal finances, which is sad
