Household activities! Every family gets involved in house work, because every house needs to be maintained.
It is not something to be neglected, and often mothers take it upon themselves to do it, and to teach their children how to do it...

How involved are you in carrying out household activities?

There are seven of us who still live at home, and all of us are involved in doing one chore or the other.
I also have many that I'm involved in since after my elder sister, I'm the next. The chores we do at home involves:

• Cooking
• Washing plates
• Sweeping and mopping the house
• Fetching water to fill the storage.
• Washing clothes

All these chores and more are what we all take part in, everyone to his own ability. For me I can do all them, but there are some that I have less interest in. Keep reading...

Why do you think housework is important?

For something to remain in good order, work has to be applied. The same is application to the house, foe it to run well or to remain im order, house work need to be done.

Housework helps children to be better prepared for adult life. It helps them to develop nice skills such as cooking, organizing, cooperation, etc.
For example learning to do house chores has helped me to always help people ven outside, like when I want to buy something if possible I help the person to sell to me, Buying oranges that are not peeled yet i help to peel it if the person permits me

Doing House chores helps to keep the house neat and clean and thus the family members stay healthy.

What is the domestic activity that you prefer to carry out and what is the one that you try to avoid? Comment the reasons

I love washing the dishes, washing my clothes, filling the water storage, sweeping and mopping the house. All these I do willingly because I'm already used to doing them, that's how I were trained, to work.
I even prefer doing these chores without being reminded to do them.

Unfortunately what is supposed to be a woman's passion at home has been my worst chore. They say every woman should love cooking, but I don't really like it. My mom and my elder sister are the ones who always stands in to cook for us and they do it very well. I always try to avoid cooking, but there are tes when I have to do it, because no one else is home or my mom and my sister can't do it for some reason.

I do my chores because I know the benefits of them, and I have to do them.

How much time of the day do you spend doing household activities and how do you plan?

"When you wake up in the morning, wash your face and do your chores"
This is what we and many other Nigerian kids are told. So we have learnt doing the chores in the mornings that we have even started calling these chores morning chores.
The morning chores involves doing the dishes, sweeping the house, arranging the rooms, making breakfast.

What is the domestic activity that you do with the help of another person, and why?

There are many chores that I do with the help of my siblings, in fact even the chores that are very easy to do alone we still prefer to help each other complete it.
The one I especially do with the help of my siblings is filling the water storage.

Sometimes due to electricity issue we won't have running water so we have to go to another place to look for water and we use mini trucks to push it home.

After pushing the water to home i also need help to turn all the gallons of water into the big water storage.
