Cutting 12 mm Plywood into a Circle Using a Hand Grinder
Plywood cutting process
Greetings to all steemians in the world, allow me to share a post about the procedure for cutting plywood using a hand grinder and the satisfying results.
Cutting plywood with a thickness of 12 mm using a hand grinder to form a circle is a challenging job but gives satisfying results if done correctly. And here are the procedures and processes, results and experiences that I felt while doing this job.
- Preparation and tools I use
The first step I took was to prepare all the equipment and materials. I chose 12 mm thick Triplydenban because it is strong enough for various purposes, but still allows it to be cut with tools such as a hand grinder. The hand grinder I used is equipped with a special blade for wood, which is able to provide precise cuts without too many chips.
In addition, I also use a large compass to draw a precise circle pattern on the plywood surface. Like a rope attached to a pencil can also be used as an alternative to make a circle pattern. A sturdy work table is important, because it keeps the plywood stable during the cutting process. For safety, I still maintain my safety to avoid injury from splinters or dust.

- Cutting process
I started the cutting process by slowly following the circle line that I had drawn. The hand grinder was turned on, and I started from the outside of the circle, moving carefully to keep the shape precise. One of the biggest challenges was keeping the grinder steady when cutting curved edges. If the grinder moved too fast or pressed too hard, the cut could be messy or even deviate from the pattern that I had drawn.
I found that cutting in increments to be the most effective technique. By cutting a little at a time while squeezing the plywood, I was able to have better control over the cut. While it took longer, this method also ensured a neater, more symmetrical circle shape.
- The final result of finishing
After the cut is complete, the edges of the circle are still rough, so I can use sandpaper to smooth out the surface. The sanding process can also help remove wood chips that can be aesthetically pleasing or dangerous to use.
The final result is very satisfying, the circle shape that is formed looks smooth and precise, with neat and symmetrical edges. Plywood with a thickness of 12 mm remains sturdy even after being cut, making it ideal for various needs such as decoration, tables.

- Advantages and disadvantages
The advantage of using a hand grinder is its flexibility and ease when cutting various shapes, including circles. However, the disadvantage lies in the higher level of difficulty compared to special cutting tools such as jigsaws. However, here it really requires precision and good control so that the results do not deviate.
Cutting 12 mm plywood into a circle with a hand grinder for work that requires skill and patience. With good preparation and the right technique, the results can be very satisfying. And this tool is a very effective choice for high-precision work, as long as it is done carefully. This process also provides valuable experience in understanding control and accuracy in the use of carpentry tools.

Un saludo amigo, gracias por compartirnos tu experiencia utilizando una moladora manual, es una forma de cortar manera que requiere de su practica pero por lo que veo usted ya la sabe utilizar, quedo muy bien el resultado.
Thank you for reading my friend, hopefully it will be useful for all of us, greetings @fajrulakmal99
