Greetings Distinguished and incredible Steemians, I will not be wrong if I should address us as lovers of legumes because, we are approaching 10th of February a day i refer to as "LEGUMES O'CLOCK". Let me seize this privilege to commend and appreciate @hive-141434 for bringing this contest up so that we the Steemians can join in celebrating this year's World Pulses Day as designed by United Nation Organization.
I want to advocate for a particular legume called "Okorti" in my local dialect and beans in the English translation. Beans, a delicacy enjoyed due to its richness in protein, fiber, vital vitamins and iron is one of my favorites group of legumes. It has health benefits which are not limited to regulation of blood sugar, heart health and proper digestion of food. Beans could serve as precursors for beans cake, moi moi and could even go alone. Aside from being a precursor for these snacks, Beans could be combined in the following ways

Despites the numerous combos of Beans, one of my favorites remainsBeans and ripe Plantain and that is what i am bringing to the table because, I can't stay for seven days without having a taste of beans especially with this combination. The costs of preparing this meal depends on the quantity of the meal one intend to make. For a family of three, one would need about 15 Steems to make this delicacy. (Taking a Steem to be 0.2 Dollar)

Detailed Steps of Cooking Beans and Ripe Plantains |

I Selected impurities from my three cups of beans and sliced my 6 pieces of plantains into a sizeable portion taking cognizant that ripe plantains dissolves easily when exposed to heat.
After selecting the impurities from my beans, I poured water into the beans and let it boil on fire untill the beans becomes soft
During the process of exposing my beans to heat so as to make it soft, I sliced my onions, peeled the Maggi, grinded my crayfish and as well prepared my fish.
After exposing my beans to heat that it becomes soften, I filtered out the water from my beans with the aim of removing remains of chemicals/preservatives. After during this, I poured back my beans into the pot and added my plantains and water while I watch it boiled. (Others may choose to fry theirs)
This is the stage where I added my ingredients (pepper, Maggi, salt, Obu, pepper, fish and oil) and sat back patiently waiting for my food to be ready.

These steps would be incomplete if I should fail to mention the stage in which my beans and Plantain is done and ready for consumption. It is best served with cold drink.

Beans as a source of protein is highly nutritious and when combined with oil, Cray fish, water and fish, it becomes more nutritious and balanced in diets.
