I consider every street vendor a warrior. Street vendors struggle with harsh realities for families. In our country street vendor is called as hawker. Street vendors sell their prescribed goods by moving around or sitting at different places at a time, attracting the attention of buyers. I thank the RECREATIVE STEEM community. Let's share my idea about street vendor.

What do you think is the role of street vendors in the informal economy?

Street vendors are an important segment of the informal economy. Street vendors sell their wares on busy city streets or in residential areas. Street vendors mostly sell daily necessities and attractive items that the customer immediately notices and buys.

Street vendors work in the informal economy to bring essential goods to people's lives at low cost and easily accessible. Street vendors are usually from poor communities and engage in this profession for their livelihood.

Have you ever been a street vendor?

Yes, I worked as a street vendor for a while. In 2018, I sold a new SIM from a popular Bangladeshi SIM company by visiting various colleges and universities. I sold a lot of sim's at that time because the internet offers on those sim were attractive.

What is the best thing you bought from a street vendor?

I buy a lot of things from street vendors like masks, caps, t-shirts at low prices and most of all street food which is very tempting and demands it on sight.

The best thing I bought from a street vendor was the earphones. I love listening to music when I get on the bus but I forgot to take my airpod so I bought an earphone from a street vendor and completed my bus journey.

Do you think the state should give them the right to sell their goods or services freely or, on the contrary, have a formal place for their work?

I think the street vendors can get the right to sell their goods freely which will give them independence and self-reliance and will bring relief to their livelihood. Street vendors can deliver cheaply, easily and quickly, which larger establishments can offer.

Confirmation required before authorization:
Street vendors should check their products before allowing them to sell them freely. There are many street vendors who sell very low quality goods which may benefit the customer temporarily but later turn out to be a loss.

It is imperative to check whether the quality of the food is hygienic or not among the street vendors who sell food. If they give their right inside the road they can cause chaos so a law should be made to follow the rules and the penalty for not following the law.
