I completely agree. I have friends on both cheeks of the political ass, and when they tout their idol I just tell them that if they support one of them they support the system itself. Most folks are pretty sure the system is broken. This diverts them to how their hero will fix all the things they think are wrong.
I point out that I was born during the Kennedy administration, and went through what they're going through already with candidates decades ago. If you support one, you support all of the grifters, and there's no good coming from helping them parasitize us.
At this point, I usually lose a friend LoL
