Steemit Engagement Challenge S11-W4 | Happy World Cat Day

Hello everyone;

Finally, the Steemit Engagement Challenge is a competition just for me. The most challenging thing for a crazy cat lady like me was to choose the photos for this post. Almost 90% of my gallery consists of cat photos. I am in constant contact with cats, even if I don't keep them in my own home right now.

1. Are you a cat keeper or are you a cat lover? Tell us !

I was once both, but after the death of my cat, I now only love stray cats and try to help them. I have told the story about my cat before in this article. After my cat died, I decided not to keep cats at home anymore, but my love for them is endless. As I said, I don't have a cat at home, but my sister-in-law and cousin, whom I often visit and talk to on video every day, have cats. My cousin Büşra sends me cat photos every day so I can satisfy my cat longing. I am excited to visit them in September because I will meet the kitties.

2. Do you think Cats are unconditional friends? Give your reasons!

As a cat lover, I guess I cannot answer this question objectively. I think these innocent creatures are only looking for trust and love. Of course, every cat's character is different, but the only thing a cat generally expects is love. Of course, I don't think any cat can say no to delicious food, but especially stray cats can't eat properly and they need healthy food from us.

3. What is your understanding and effort regarding animal welfare for cats?

This is something I am very sensitive to and care about. First of all, I am a person who respects the right to life of all living things, not just cats. I try to feed the stray animals living in my neighborhood. Especially in the hellish heat of summer, I try to help them access clean water by putting water containers around my house. What I can do as an individual is limited to these, but I always try to support the municipalities and social responsibility projects as much as I can. It is very important that stray animals are sterilized and fully vaccinated. I can say that the municipality of the city I live in is successful in this regard. There are many cat houses in the city. The cats here are vaccinated and fed regularly.

4. Are there myths that develop in your community about cats? Share with us

Actually, it wouldn't be right to call it a myth, but I want to talk about the cats of Istanbul. There is even a documentary about the cats of Istanbul, as I will add the link here. My favorite thing about my country is our fascination with cats. It's like the cats have taken over us. It is possible to see a cat in markets, restaurants, everywhere. These cats are like the boss of these places and it's like they own us, not us.
