What is the type of your animal (pets/wild animals, etc.)
When I read the publication of this challenge, one animal came to my mind.
The bear is regarded as a wild animal known for its size and adaptability as well as its ferocity and there are several species of the bear namely
The black bear: This species is the most common and widespread of all bear types. Its found mainly in North America and is known for being skilled climbers. From studies I've found that this is actually the best kind of bear to meet with as a human, this is because they are naturally timid and tend to avoid humans and thus are not as dangerous as the other bear species to humans. When confronting this kind of bear, making a loud noise can scare them off.
The Grizzly Bear : This is one iconic species and the most popular of all bears. They are also found primarily in North America and are known for the hump they possess on their shoulders. Although they are also shy and timid, they can become very territorial and maul a human if provoked or if they feel like it. It's best to avoid confrontation with this kind of bear, when faced with them it's best just to lay down so as not to look like a threat to them.
The Polar bear: This is my favorite kind of bear although I would call it the deadliest. Its found in the Arctic plains and is a master survivor. White as snow so as to help it adapt and blend with its environment better. They have dense fur and are also powerful swimmers.
As a human, you'd better not be in a situation where you set eyes on one of these species in the wild. This is because they are a master at stalking and most of the time when you see them. It's most likely because they want you to see them.
This means they're ready to go for the kill and trust me when I say "You can't run from one" especially if you're in their natural habitat. So unless you have a means of getting away faster, your fight or flight response would be useless against this natural predator.
There are various other species but I've mentioned three of the most common types here.
Are these animals also found in other countries?
Yes, bears can be found in a lot of countries not just countries in North America as it is mostly situated. Bears can be found in Europe, Asia, and even parts of Africa. Each bear species would often be found in environments that suit them and serve as their habitat relative to the local climate and geography.
The widespread presence of bears is why they are widely known and incorporated into traditions and customs worldwide.
What is the animal mascot used for (sports club, country, etc)
I can argue that the most commonly used animal as mascots are bears. They are used in various sports like basketball, American football, and rugby all the way to countries and organizations typically for the qualities it represents Strength and ferocity.
A very common use case is the Grizzlies which happen to be a very popular NBA team known for their mascot being a grizzly bear.

I'm sure you've heard of Ja Morant and other popular basketballers on this team. They take pride in their ferocity. Bears are also used as mascots in many other places including high school colleges as team mascots to encourage team spirit.
Mention its characteristics and philosophy so that it becomes a mascot
The first noticeable quality when looking at a bear is its size. They are very large and are also known for their strength. It is with this brute strength they are able to overcome their prey and take on other dangerous predators in the wild without fear. This is one of the most popular reasons for it being used as a mascot. The signification of strength, power, and ferocity. Being able to face fears with the belief that you would overcome them.
Another characteristic is its adaptability, bears are able to survive in various environments even outside their natural habitat and this signifies the ability to be open to change, versatile, and survivability irrespective of whatever life throws at you.
Another minor characteristic is nurturing. Bears unlike most other animals in the animal kingdom nurture their cubs until they are able to face the world on their own. They take pride in devotion and protection and this signifies team bonding, team spirit and family bonding as a mascot.
WHO IS DOPPLEY
His goal on steemit is to make numerous connections with people and put out valuable articles for the steem community to consume and interact with. Basically to be like water, which slips through fingers but is still capable of holding up a ship.
He juggles many interests, writer, saxophonist, accountant, data scientist, trader, real estate agent, and some others at once but his passion keeps him steady.

Bears are very beautiful animals, although in person they are surely fearsome, especially because of their large size.
You are right, this is an animal widely used in advertising and as a sports logo, it will be because they have a lot of personality and at the same time they are very cute.

Yes very true. They’re really cute, especially pandas which are sadly endangered now. They can be really playful too
