2/2/2025 evening was a gorgeous moment because I saw chameleon for the second time in my life. Yes, chameleons are very very hard to set eyes on in my environment. But as I was strolling on our street enjoying the calm evening breeze I saw chameleon. It was an amazing moment to set my eyes on that beautiful creation. Then returning home, l decided to join this contest with drawing of a chameleon.

From my research, l realized that Chameleon have specialised skin cells chromatophores. This is the reason why they easily change thier colour and blend with any environment they fine themselves. This animal has long, sticky tongue that helps them to catch prey in a lightning fast speed.

This is the animal that can live for 10 to 15 year. They eat fruit, leaves, and different insects for survival. The spend most of their time on trees and bushes. Here in our environment, they are found to be tree-dweller with excellent sight, their eyes is highly miraculous, they are large and they move independently.

Material used:

HB pencil
A4 white paper
Eraser
Colour drawing pen
Ruler

The first thing I did was assembling of my drawing tool and also used my ruler to draw out my working space.

In my second step, I used my pencil to make a sketch of two irregular line, which is one of my tree branches that my chameleon is sitting on.

In my third step, I made a sketch of the chameleon, including the head, the dorsal/ventral, the legs, the hands and the tail. I also make a sketch of the tree leaves under his feet.

I continue my drawing with the completion of my chameleon sketch and I added more flowers leaf to it.

Since tree branch was the first in my drawing, as such I started with colouring of my tree branches using brown color.

It was right time for me to start colouring my chameleon and I began with the colouring of the hands, feet and some parts of the body.

This was where the hectic work was in this drawing, I carefully add different colors using drawing pen of different colours.

In this step, it was only colouring of the head, I used to only three colours and you can see my chameleon look like one.

The next step was colouring of leaves to blend with the colour of my chameleon. At this point, I was extremely delighted to have a beautiful creation in my face.

I wrote my username and date I carry out this drawing.
