My actions to make our environment cleaner, greener and healthier 🌲🌲🌲🌴🌴🌴

The rate at which people in general are causing harm to the environment and also building it is alarming and worthwhile at the same time.

• You see people planting for food and other factors. On the other hand, you see others cutting these trees down for production
• You see people dispose waste wrongly. On the other hand, you see others recycle these waste products.

Everything in life always have opposites but I want to state in what way I've contributed to the growth of the environment. The environment is made up of people, animals and other living things which can be greatly influenced by the activities of non-living things as well as living things in that same environment. To contribute to the health of my environment especially, I do a lot of things that can benefit myself and not affect others in anyway.

Planting Trees

Many consider planting of trees as a waste of time but to be frank, this practice is what the villagers use as survival instinct in the village they reside. Reasons why you barely see them die fast. You'll see a person of age, 90 years still agile and not completely broken down.

These trees planted by the villagers is one way they build their environment positively and a lot of people benefit from this practice. By planting trees;

• I'm in effect saving the environment from **natural disasters like wind ** which the trees will act as wind breakers to prevent destruction of properties which is one of the dreadful consequences of high wind.

• Another is that these trees filters pollution of all form. You may think it's absurd but it helps filter air pollution which may include bush burning, burning wastes etc

• Asides these, the trees serve as shade for us, promotes the greenery of the environment and also serve as sources of food produce

This is what I enjoy doing as well as clearing grasses in my homeland. I don't have to wait until it's a sanitation day before I do these things. I'll ensure I keep my environment clean so it would be conducive for inhabitants and also not repulsive to the eyes of onlookers

How I do it?

I do this planting of trees with my cutlass, hoe, shovel, a nursery etc. These are actually the necessary tools needed to plant a tree. I don't just start by taking the tree to the soil. I must nurse it first in a nursery before transplanting it on normal soil.

It's actually easy to do depending on when and what we do after this planting. If we allow it in a dry season, it may die or wither because we're not doing anything to enhance its growth. With these trees too, we contribute to a process called photosynthesis.

I usually do this in my farm as there's much space there but they doesn't mean I don't have trees in my home. I have but just had to remove some because of space. My motivation to planting trees is that someday, it would stand to help you in various ways that are unimaginable.

You may feel planting trees just consume space but this is more like an investment you are into. You wait for your years before you see them grow and you may not know how beneficial the tree would be. Motivation is always in the habit to be farming every week. That's actually where I got my motivation to continue doing this.

And for the fact that the natural disasters have caused untold harm in the lives of many. Trees may be used for other beneficial activities as stated. This is my focus in saving the environment from the fire back of nature which may be difficult to withstand.
