Hello dear kids, trust you are all doing great and having fun.
Today I am pleased to announce to you the winners for last week's skids-corner contest and as well give you update on the new week.
Starting from this week, the skids-corner contest is going to take another form. It will still be an interactive contest for you dear kids but a different activity will be attached.
Each week we will be bringing in new theme for you to deliberate on. We want to make sure that you make meaningful interactions here and also learn from others. The theme could be to write stories, debates, about the chores you are doing or any proposed topic. You will be having the discussions under this post in the comment section of this post.
Try to engage with others by commenting on what they wrote about the weeks topic. It can form a basis for discussion.
Theme for this week
Write a short story that ends with the phrase "I wish I had listened".
This week we want to see creative writings from you. We would like to see how talented you are in the area of story writing. This is also an opportunity for you and others to learn how to improve in their story writing skills. So write on the above topic. The story can be taken from real life experience or formulated by you but make sure it ends with "I wish I had listened"
Please be sure to follow the guidelines below:
- Write in not less than 50-100 about the topic given
- Please try to make comments on the stories of others
- Mention friends to participate and comment on your story.
- Your story should be written under the comment section of this post
Apart from writing and commenting, you can also share the link to the post you made in the community here and invite others to comment on it.

Reward system
We still keep 30 steem for all kids who join this contest.
We will share 15 steem to three most engaging kids. The first winner will get 7 steem, the second winner will get 5 steem and then the third person will gain 3 steem.
We will then share 15 steem to the other kids.
Winning criteria
The winners will be chosen from those who wrote according to the weeks theme and that commented on the stories that others have written.
This contest will continue till the end of one month and then the most engaging kid will be celebrated. He will be labelled Steemkids celeb and will be given a reward.
We will start from this week to count till one month when the top winner will be announced.

I wish i had listened
This man was always a bit of a troublemaker. He loved to make jokes and have fun with his friends, but he also had a wild side that he never knew how to control. One day, while he was out partying with his friends, he got into a fight that went too far. As punishment, the authorities sent him to jail. While in jail, he met a fairy who told him that if he ever released all of the prisoners from jail, she would turn him into a good person and everyone in the world will forget all the bad deeds he ever done in his life also giving him control of his monstrous side. He wanted to get rid of the jail and listened to the fairy with a second thought.The mate he told all his plan asked him not to listen to the fairy and that is not a fairy but a bad soul of a past prisoner who died years ago. That man wanted his freedom so bad that he didn't listened to his friend and released all the prisoners. As a result, he became a monster and people tried to run away from him. He would return to his normal form only 2 hours a day and other time he will be a monster and feed on human blood. Those 2 hours are the worst day of his life when he regret the decision of not listening to his mate. He always used to say to himself I wish I had listened

It is so bad, it could have been amazing if he listened
Huhhh, no use to cry over split milk :/
He himself was curious one day he decided to go for a swim. As soon as he got near the shore something strange happened, his body turned into liquid and he disappeared beneath the waves. All of this was because of a curse he was given at the time of his birth by some fairies . He never returned home again. He has lived all his previous life as a merman but now he will have to live a life of a normal human. He didn't know how to walk with foot and to breath in the normal air. His life has changed abruptly just because of a single wrong decision. When he went to the shore and walked naked on the beach he had no friends and family. He couldn't go back to the sea because he now cannot breath in the water. His tail has disappeared. He now has always wished that he had listened to his mother.

Amiguitos aquí esta linda historia que he creado para compartir con ustedes.
Habia una vez una niña que era hija única y vivía en el campo, se llamaba Lucia, su casita quedaba muy lejos de todo, por lo que la niña no tenia amiguitos con quien jugar.
Ella asistia a la escuela del pueblo y en su clase tenia varias amiguitas, que se aprovechaban de su nobleza, le quitaban toda su merienda, porque ella si era una buena niña y queria tener bastantes amiguitas y compartia todo asi a ella no le quedara nada, pero sus amiguitas no se comportaban como ella, se comian us meriendas escondidas de ella.
Un dia a la niña se le ocurrió llevar una de sus muñecas favoritas, era una muñeca muy linda y su mamá se dió cuenta que estaba llevando su muñeca a la escuela y le dijo: hijita no deberias llevar ese juguete a la escuela es uno de tus favoritos, puede pasar algo o se te puede perder. la niña miro a su mamá como sacaba su muñeca y la colocaba en su cama, pero cuando su mamá se descuido ella aprovecho y tomo la muñeca y la escondió rapidamente en su bolso.
La niña se fue a su escuela, y en el momento del recreo, saco su muñeca para mostrarsela a sus amigas, unas niñas estaban muy feliz pero a otras le molesto que la lucia llevara una muñeca tan linda, entonces el grupo de niña que no le agradaba ver que lucia tenia una muñeca tan bonita le pidió prestada la muñeca supuestamente para jugar, pero lo que hicieron fue dañar el cabello y la ropa de la linda muñeca de lucia, al finalizar el recreo devolvieron la muñeca y lucia al mirarla se puso muy triste y empezo a llorar.
Cuando su mamá llego a retirarla a la escuela, lucia le conto lo que habia pasado y le dijo Mamita muy triste... :( si yo te hubiera escuchado.

Hello friends I will like to drop my my own story whicch later ended with wish had I listened.
There lived a very young boy called abuchi.who was living with it's parents in the city of aba in Abia state Nigeria.
Although life was so miserable for them infact they are very poor that his parents could not provide three square meal for their children every day.
But at time goes own things keep turning worse than good but at school it turns to be that abuchi is a scholar in all the subject that he was taght in school,and after his secondary education he decided not persuade his parents to further his education but rather he went to look for job,and when he found one he used his weekly wages to help his parents and siblings but at some time his old time primary school friend met him in the market and they hugged each other and they went to a bar were they told each other about their life's and after that his friend decided to help him and told him that they will be traveling to Lagos but the mistake that abuchi did was not asking him the kind of job they will be doing there and when he went home and told his parents everything but they did not support him traveling to Lagos despite their condition but abuchi neglated them I backed his belongings and went off without telling his parents that he is off.
When him and his friend arrived to Lagos,but it was midnight so they slept off and in the morning he decided to ask his friend the kind of job they will be doing but his friend told him saying that his job here is to deal on hard drugs and he asked abuchi if he is willing to join in the business and abuchi agreed and they went off.
The first day they runner the business it really went well and he found out that he was rich but he didn't remember his parents and siblings any more and they went to run the business for the second time and everything went smoothly and when they went to the third time they were detained in the airport.
And firstly they were taken to the court and they were judged and their judgement was to rot their whole life in prison and before they were taken to prison he was given the grace to say the last goodbye to his parents and and when they were discussing with each other he advised his other siblings not to follow his wrong footsteps but try to wait for God's time and at the end he ended up saying in his mind wish I had listened
