SEC-S17W4: the effects of economic hardships on families

INTRODUCTION

It is argued that poverty and economic loss has reduced the capacity for supportive, consistent, and a loving parent to be able to care for their children due to the hardship in the environment and country at large.

This is a very hard time to become an adult or even a parent cause the link between been an adult and been a parent is a psychological problem. This has show that the effects that the economic has on the family is a hard one

People are really struggling, struggling to meet ends meet struggling to put food on the table for the family and this has made it very hard for some families to have a very good communication between the children and the parents, that's because in some families before the child could wake from sleep and say Good Morning to either the mom or the Dad one of them is no where to be found because they are at work and before they come back from work it's late and this will cause for that child not to be able to communicate well with that particular parent which is not very good.

It turns out that economic hardship is a main factor of mental health challenges in the country.

Economic hardship can have a very big effect on families, which can lead to the following effects;

FINANCIAL INSTABILITY

Lack of money is one very common problem that affects the family well being and can also cause the bread winner of the family to be down, to be depressed and be put in a position that he sometimes thinks of commiting suicide to end his life which is a very awful act.

EMOTIONAL AND MENTAL BREAKDOWN IN FAMILIES

This effect is very common cause the mood of the family members changes automatically when he/she realizes that there isn't enough around for him to be able to survive the day, week, month and year and this can lead to depression.

EFFECTS ON THE CHILDREN

This is a very dangerous one cause children are one of the most fragile being in the family and can easily breakdown both emotionally and mentally.

SOLUTIONS TO THE EFFECTS OF ECONOMIC HARDSHIP ON FAMILIES

There a lot of solutions that can be offered to the family in need, families that is immersed in poverty and these solutions include;

• HELPING THE FAMILIES IN NEED

• providing them with basic amenities...

• EDUCATION

• FINANCE

• FEEDING etc.

CONCLUSION

By applying this solutions to the family in need it will reduce economic hardship in the society and the country at large. We just need to create a social community for this families so they would be able to communicate with others when they are need.
