My parents are the two human beings that God sent me to live with as my Father and my Mother. I parent is the person that produces you or brings you into this world. The mother gives birth and the father supports her and the baby. The baby is their joint responsibility and they will be accountable to God one day for the way they fulfilled these responsibilities.

Why are your parents special to you?

My parents are special to me because of these reasons below;

1. They give me love and show me how loved I am in this world. There is no greater love than a mother's or father's love.

2. They give me their time to nature me by advising me on how to do chores, be a loving and responsible person and grow up well. At times when I did something wrong, they can cane me. But this is very few times because they mostly use their mouth to speak Sense back into me.

3. They are special because they spend money on me and my sisters by buying for us food, clothes, ice cream, chips and other things that we like. Sometimes it is very difficult to make this money because they do hard jobs, and work extra hours just to provide for us.

4. When I fall sick, my parents take me to hospital, provide for me and help me get better. Sometimes when I fall sick, my mum cannot sleep. She sacrifices her time and energy.

5. They provide education for me by taking me to school. And they will always choose the best schools that teach well so that I can pass highly and be successful in life. The school fees, shoes, books and other utilities they also strive to get them. And when I am leaving home in the morning, my mum packs for me and makes me ready for school.

Which one of them are you especially fond of? And why?

I am fond of my dad. Even though I love both of them equally, my dad and I share the same passion for the environment because he is an environmental scientist. He likes topics about climate change and travels alot.

My mum likes cooking, reading, teaching and writing. She is like my little sister Tasha because they have alot in common. The people even say to that I look like my dad and Tasha looks like mum.

What moral values have you learned from them?

From my dad, I have learnt to be patient and kind. He always tells us to treat people with respect and humility. That is why he is humble and kind, and I think it is the reason why mum fell in love with him. He has also taught me to love education because life is hard without it. He got his Doctorate when he was 30 years old and he is such an inspiration to me.

From mum, I have learnt to be clean, hardworking, and obedient person. She always emphasizes that we need to be clean and keep time.

What do you do or will you do to show your appreciation for them?

I will always strive to keep myself in school and also get high grades so I can make them happy. I will do my chores on time and my homework, so that I learn responsibility and time management.

I always avoid making my parents angry or sad. When I come from school and find a beautiful flower on the way, I take it to mum and she is happy.

Sometimes we can decorate her room with flowers when she's at work as a surprise. She is always surprised and happy when we do this for her. I also sing and dance for her and daddy. Dad says I am a good ballet dancer. I always want to make them proud.
