STEEMKIDS MATHEMATICS HOLIDAY LESSON FOR WEEK 4||MULTIPLICATION OF TWO DIGIT NUMBERS BY ONE DIGIT NUMBER
Greetings to all my dear kids and esteemed parents.Thank you for permitting your kids to participate in the homework series.
This week,I have a new lesson for the kids.We shall be looking at Multiplication of two digit numbers by one digit number.
Multiplication of Two Digit Numbers by One Digit Number
Multiplication simply means adding equal groups.For example if I am multiplying 6 by 3,it means adding 6 in three places
(i.e 6×3=6+6+6).The answer obtained after multiplication is called product.
When performing multiplication,it is important to start from the right hand side.If in any case the value exceeds 9,we have to write the last digit and carry the first digit over.
Let us look at some examples that will help you to appreciate the topic.
Examples
1.)Multiply 13 by 2
Start from the right hand side by multiplying 3 by 2 to get 6 and then multiplying 1 by 2 to get 2.So the answer becomes 26.
2.)Multiply 32 by 3.
Start from the right hand side by multiplying 2 by 3 to get 6 and then multiplying 3 by 3 to get 9.So the answer becomes 96.
3.)Multiply 16 by 2
Start from the right hand side by multiplying 6 by 2 to get 12,since it is more than 9,I will write 2 and carry 1 over and then multiplying 1 by 2 to get 2 plus that 1 that I carried over,it will now give me 3..So the answer becomes 32.
4.)Find the product of 34 and 2
Start from the right hand side by multiplying 4 by 2 to get 8 and then multiplying 3 by 2 to get 6.So the answer becomes 68.

2.)Multiply 18 by 3
3.)Multiply 15 by 5
4.)What is the product of 19 and 4
