Hello friends. I hope you are all well. Today I came here with a wonderful folk tale. This is a wonderful contest of Steem Kids & Parents community organed by @goodybest. First of all I would like to thanks her for this contest. This is a one of folk tale I have heard in my childhood. We can learn about honest by this story. The name of the story is The woodcutter and axe. Let's see.

The story

Once upon a time there lived a poor woodcutter in a small village. He lived by cutting wood and going to the city to sell it. Although he is poor, he is an honest man who does not bother anyone. He goes to the forest as a habit every day. He was a good man who loved forest and animals. The axe that helped him cut wood became his best friend. So one day when he went to cut wood, a wonderful incident happened.

On that day he went to the forest to cut wood as usual. While he was looking for firewood, he saw a good tree. A beautiful river also flowed near that tree. He started cutting that tree. So when the woodcutter was cutting the tree, his axe fell into the river. He couldn't think of anything to do. The axe sank under the water. Now he has no way to do his job without the axe. The woodcutter began to cry.

At that time something amazing happened. Hearing his cry, a god came there. Then the god asked the woodcutter why are you crying. Then the woodcutter told god what had happened to him. Hearing that, god said to him "Come now stop crying and I will help you". Saying this, the god dived under the water.

The god who dived under the water came up after a while. God had a golden axe in his hand at that time. Then the god asked the woodcutter if this golden axe is yours. Then the woodcutter answered honestly. "No, that ax is not mine." Hearing that, the god dived under the water once again. The second time the god came up with a silver axe. God once again asked the woodcutter if this axe is yours. The honest woodcutter said no. The god dived a third time and retrieved the woodcutter's lost axe. That time too God asked if this ax is yours. "Yes , this is my lost axe," replied the woodcutter happily. He was very happy and thanked God.

At that time God said, "You are a very honest person. You could have lied and taken the golden axe, but you didn't. I am very happy about your honesty. I am giving you this golden axe." Having said that, the god gave him the golden axe and disappeared. The woodcutter is very surprised. And happy. Then he thanked God again and went home happily.

The moral of the story

This is a story I heard when I was a child. The moral of this story is the value of living honestly. Because the woodcutter was honest, he got a golden axe. If he was cunning, he wouldn't get that golden axe. So let's try to live honestly. You can live happily in your heart even if you don't get other benefits from being honest.

Finally I would like to invite @sudaraka96, @damithudaya, @nishadi89 for this contest.

THANK YOU! BE HAPPY.

Hello @devil-eyes thank you so much for spotting this out, we appreciate your hard work, maybe it was an oversight on the part of the MOD who review this post.

But
On second thought, it's a popular folktale, I was told this same story when I was young too and the same as the copied link so it may be possible he didn't copy from the internet because he uses his word to write the story. My thoughts though.
