Good evening everyone, trust we are having a great weekend. This is my entry for the definition of the word kid.
WHAT DOES KID MEAN TO YOU?
To me, a kid can mean a young person, a toddler,a youngster or a child. Normally, a kid is a young person of not more than 8 to 12 years of age.
WHO IS A KID AND HOW DO YOU TREAT THEM
As earlier defined, a kid is a youngster of not more than 8- 12 years of age.
Kids deserve a special treatment ranging from.
- Treat any kid that comes your way including yours as delicate and special being because they are one. We don't treat them like our fellow adults because their level of understanding differs from ours.
- You also treat them well by being a shoulder they can lean on in times of trouble and being ready to hear them out when they need you, show them the love they deserve at that early stage because they need it and any child starved of love normally grow up into a hurt and emotionally wounded adult.
- Just as the bible says ,train up a child in the way he should go........, we treat them by setting good moral examples for them to follow not to lead them astray because if you fail to catch the young at that early stage, it may be very difficult in adult stage.
- Remember to always strictly caution them for what they gave done wrong and also let them know whey you caution them and also remember to praise them when they do it right as this would give them motivation to do it right.
- Don't spare the rod in treating them, but treat them with all the love they deserve.

Of course i have seen them before. I see them daily and i love kids a lot. I once taught in a private primary school and i loved and cherish the kids there so much. The love i have for them could be seen in the way i took care in teaching them and that led to the principal of the school organising a send forth party for me when i was about leaving which has never happened before in the history of the school. Even some parents of those kids still call me till today. I also used to teach my boss children and he later made me their private lesson tutor.
I have seen them in my church, my neighbourhood, place of work, my house and also in the school where i currently teach.
WHAT MAKES THEM HAPPY AND WHAT MAKES THEM ANGRY?

Of course you know kids can be very funny at times. Sometimes they can get really happy and sometimes too, they can be very angry but why i love them so much is that even if u upset them, they will open up and let you know so that you can make amends. A lot of factors can make kids happy or angry too ranging from his or her family background.
- When a kid has enough parental support, care, love and nuture, the kid is bound to be very happy.
- When a kid is healthy physically and does not have health challenges, such a kid is happy.
- When a kid is well taken care of and provided for in terms of food, shelter and academic wise, such kid is bound to be happy.
- Anger in kids can also stem from the type of family they come from. When a kid is from a type of home tat the parents fights each time, the kid is bound to be unhappy.
- When a kids does not perform well in school, such kid can be unhappy.
- When a kid basic needs are not provided like hood feeding and shelter, the kid will be unhappy.
- When a kid is from an abusive home, the kid will be unhappy and issues such as divorce affects the mental health of Kids a lot.
WHAT TYPE OF FOOD DOES KIDS IN YOUR LOCALITY LIKE MOST

The foods that kids like is mainly dependent on what the parents can afford. I know most kids do not like eating beans at all, just like when i was growing up, i didn't like beans and garri too. So the food they eat depends on what their patents have , some parents only have money for a particular food and that is what they feed their kids with. I know kids select food a lot, but its what you have that u give them. Some of the foods they like are noodles, rice, chicken, spaghetti and fried rice with sauce, plantain, moi-moi, egg and fish
HOW DO YOU DISCIPLINE A KID AND HOW DO THEY RESPOND TO IT?

The bible says "spare the rod and spoil the child". So this means that kids needs some discipline because they are young and as such, they may not get it right at all times, so you have to set the pace for them to follow. Yes!, you set the pace not by only teaching them but also living an exemplary life of what you teach them because leadership is do as i do and not do as i say.
some of ways to instill discipline
- Do not spare the rod in dealing with them.
- Set the pace for them to follow, don't smoke and tell them its wrong to smoke, no! It wont work that way, do as you would want them to do.
- When you tell them something is wrong, give them reasons why it's wrong so that they don't keep trying to figure it out themselves.
- Firmly set standard and stand by it,give no room for compromise.
Their reaction to discipline
Of course, you discipline them when they are wrong, they will feel bad, but you as the parent, you have to call them back later and give them the reason why you discipline them so that they don't repeat such again. Some of them also feel very remorseful when you discipline them and promise never to do that again.
HOW FUNNY, EXCITING AND ANNOYING CAN THEY BE IN DIFFERENT OCCASIONS?
Kids can be annoying some times and at the same time very exciting too.
Annoying characters in kids
- Sometimes they try to be the boss by bossing you around. You may cook a particular food and want to serve them, but they will just refuse eating and prefer to stay hungry
- They can also be very embarrassing in public places too, like most times after feeding a kid and takes he or she out to a public function, and he sees another kid eating, he will like to go there and also partake of the food too and this makes it look as if the mother did not feed him well.
- Some kids can decide to start crying most times without nothing being the issue and their cries can be disturbing and annoying at by the same time especially in public places.
Kids can be fun and exciting when they ask you certain questions which you and adult doesn't have answer to. They can also be fun and exciting when you engage them in painting arts and crafts, they can also be exciting during storytelling times and also during play times with other kids.
IF YOU ARE A KID, WHAT MAKES YOU A KID
I can say that i am not a kid anymore, but if i were to be one, ill say that what makes me a kid is the way i reason and react to thing and also see life. kids see life in a very simple manner than we adults and also are very comfortable with life.
What i like most
I can say that what i like most is eating and sleeping.
What i dislike
I dislike dirty environment and an environment that is not conducive health wise.
The type of discipline i would prefer
I would prefer discipline by mild scolding a kid.
I can be funny by acting up in ways not expected and cracking silly jokes and i can also be silly by making unrealisable demands.
