INTRODUCTION

Hello my friends, reader's, steemians, and fellow kids, how are you all feeling, hope great.
I appreciate the host of this amazing contest, because parents aren't appreciated anough for their tremendous input in the lifes of their kids.
With that said I would want to start of this post with a question
Who is a parent,and what does a parent mean to you?

WHAT DOES A PARENT/PARENTS MEAN?

A parent/Parents my nature are the once who bring up an offspring.
In the world today parent's aren't only the once that gave birth to the child due to adoption and other things, rather a parent is one who guide's and takes care of any offspring in anyway he or she can.

WHY ARE YOUR PARENTS SPECIAL TO YOU?

I'm not one of those lucky few who are fortunate to grow up with both parents,i was or rather I am being raised by my mom alone, I lost my dad due to the boko-haram crisis in nigeria, he was part of the few brave military men sent out to fight against the insurgency in Nigeria, but unfortunately he was killed.
Having one parent really makes you appreciate them more, my mom is so special to me in everyway for her resilience and strong will to keep on pushing with life

WHICH ONE OF THEM ARE YOU ESPECIALLY FOND OF AND WHY?

Both, before my father died, I never really had one I was especially fond of because they both showered I and my two elder siblings with love, despite the little funds we had, they always had a bright smile on their faces assuring us everything will be alright, the truth is I love them both equally and wish he didn't have to go like that (R.I.P DAD).

WHAT MORAL VALUES HAVE YOU LEARNED FROM THEM?

FROM MY DAD
I learnt patriotism, he had a chance to walk away from the fight or be posted somewhere else but he decided not to,he decided to stay and fight for the love of his county, and he died with honour.

FROM MY MOM
From her I learnt the Spirit of persistence and the meaning of true love, despite her having so little, she has in every way taken care of her three children, I and my two elder sisters. I can still remember when we just newly lost him she was devastated she thought of giving up,I personally felt like it was the end of the world,but somehow God gave her the strength to continue and she was able to transfer that strength and transfer that energy to not only me but my siblings and gave us hope, she single-handedly has now trained my two older sisters through out university and now with the help of my sisters is also training me in secondary school

WHAT DO YOU DO OR WILL YOU DO TO SHOW YOUR APPRECIATION TO THEM?

There isn't much I can really ever do to show how much I appreciate her but I try in every little way I can,I try by coming out top in my acdemics to show her I do not take her struggles for granted,I try and help out with her business in everyway I can, and now with this amazing platform called STEEMIT I can now earn some income to help out with some needs in the family.
And I intend to do more for her in the near future like starting up her dream fashion house taking her traveling round the world and giving her a better life, and by Gods grace I will achieve it.

CONCLUSION

Writing this post has really been emotional for me, and has taking me back memory lane
I really hope every kid just knows how amazing parents are and the sacrifices they go through on a daily bases just to take care and provide for us the kids.
