SEC14 WK:#5: Charity Begins at home
Greetings to my fellow steemians, hope you are all doing great? I am glad to participate in this amazing contest in the steem kids and parents community.
What is your view about charity and do you believe that it should begin at home? |

The word charity has to do with the act of willingly giving out help to the needy mostly in form of money and this also extends to house items, food stuffs and many other things. There are lots of charity foundation in the world that is still working.
Yes I believe charity should begin at home. We really have to impact our kids with the habit of charity and educate them about its rewards so that they will be able to carry out charity with love.
When the kids are able to carry out charity at home, it will eventually spread out to the society and this act will hardly end.
What is the motivating factor for charity work and is it good to broadcast what you have done for others? |

The motivating factor for doing charity are many religious morals/values, empathy or having the zeal to help others. Charity could help motivate others to good works, thereby helping the needy to feel loved.
Personally in the course of charity, I don't like it when people show it on camera when they are giving to the needy to gain followers and respect. God would not be pleased with such an attitude in which you use the means of charity to probably mock the condition of the poor people.
But in a situation whereby the broadcast could seem good, is if your intentions are not to show off to the world but to be able to inspire others to join in the charity, then can you broadcast it and God will be happy with you, and you will reward you for it.

Charity is mostly for the poor and needy, therefore charity can be given to our family if they are truly worth the charity. If your siblings are finding it difficult to raise their house expenses, feeding or school fees, then you can give charity to them. If there is no one in your house who need charity, you can extend it to your neighbours, friends, and others.
I sometimes try making my family laugh and happy by cracking jokes which I think is a form of charity, and it also makes me happy. I don't do charity with money for my family because we are okay and don't need it. I did it some days back to someone living far from my house who wasn't yet my friend.

My advice to others about charity is that charity should be carried out to help inspire people to become good because it pays to be good. If the top rich people and companies should start doing charity, within the next 10 years a lot will change for good.
Also, do not do charity to gain earthly recognition. Charity doesn't need to be big, even a smile could help.
