Introduction

Hello my fellow steemians, kids and kids lovers in this community @steemkids. I am delighted to be participating in this contest. Wellcome to my blog.

It has been a worrisome experience to some parents regarding the below average performance of their wards.
So many factors are responsible for a child's poor performance in school and learning in general and in the course of the contest I will be suggesting ways to profer solution to such a situation. The question at stake is

How Do I Make A kid Think Faster And Smarter?

I wish to register my vote Thanks to @prolee for coming up with this brainstorming and researchful contest topic.
This is a topic that needs a practical approach to profer solution to pthe problem mentioned above in the preamble of the Contest. As a father of 2 kids and a husband of a trained professional teacher my input to this contest will be more of experiential and practical. I will share the methods I have employed on my two year old son and indeed it has worked wonders so much so I now nickname my son BRAIN BOX because of his high sense of reasoning and any time I call him that name he feels on top of the world. At birth every childs brain is a "Tabula Rasa" meaning an empty or blank slate. So whatever is deposited their sticks tenaciously.

MAKE YOUR KIDS HAPPY BEFORE THEY GO TO SCHOOL

Don't beat your kid when he is goin to school, try to make sure that he leaves home for school in a very good mood.

NUTRITION

Good food plays a pivotal role in the development of the brain starting from infancy. And there are certain foods that are specially called "foods of the brain" they enhance the effective functioning of the brain in reasoning and thinking as well

Environment

The environment in which a child finds himself goes a long way in affecting his mental development. A child who grows up in a rural settlement full of primitive old men and women can not be compared with a child who grows up in an urban settlement or city. The difference will always be clear. Before I married I was living in a neighborhood that was dominated by purely Hausa-speaking children and even in the compound I live the old women there don't speak or understand English . Every communication and conversation is fine in Hausa. It was having a very bad INFLUENCE on my little kid. Even when I ask him question in English he will respond in Hausa. He was very fluent in pronouncing Hausa words than English words. I have no option than to relocate from that place and pack to a neighborhood that is predominantly English speaking children and close to a nursery primary school he greatly changed and improved.

Intelligent Quotient Of The Parents

In the psychology of education it has been established that "intelligence is hereditary" meaning that a child mental performance can be traced to his parents. In a family where both parents are dullards, their children will follow suit.

Bullying

A children who is undergoing bullying be it domestic bullying, mental bullying, social bullying, emotional bully, psychological bullying will always manifest low performance rate academically.

Crisis Home

A child from a troubled home where both parents hardly agree with each other but instead are always in loggerheads with each other will experience backwardness in learning and thinking fast.

PEER INFLUENCE

A child's peers has a great influence on him/her. The level of thinking and smartness of your child's playmate can INFLUENCE him positively or negatively.

PARENT-CHILD, GUARDIAN- LEARNER RELATIONSHIP/ COMMUNICATION METHOD

The way and manner in which parents communicate and relates to and with their wards affects their level of performance. Likewise the way a teacher communicates and relates to/with their pupil/students affect their ability to think, learn and understand. Here we see the correlation between formal and informal learning. Formal Education and Informal Education are interwoven because what a child did not learn at home he can not learn at school.

Divorced Parents/ Single Parenthood

A child whose parents are divorced do have problem concentrating in schools and learning.
Children from single parents as a result of divorce or death always experience mental setbacks.

THERE SHOULD BE COLLABORATION BETWEEN PARENTS AND TEACHERS

The parents should collaborate with the teacher of their wards to ensure that every thing pertaining their learning is put in place

EARLY CHILD CARE AND EDUCATION

You cannot compare a child who started learning and hearing the sound of A,B,C,D From when he is 8months old with the one that started learning it from 2years plus. Thank God for the recent innovative in the educational sector which birthed the Introduction of EARLY CHILDHOOD CARE AND EDUCATION (ECCE) which is a course offered in Colleges Of Education
This is in confirmation of what the Holy Bible said:

Train up a child in the way he should go, when he is old he will not depart from it (proverbs 22:6)

USE TEACHING AIDS

Most children learn faster by seeing so if you can
apply visual aids that will go along way.

EMPLOY THE SERVICE OF A HOME TEACHER

Some children over play once they not in the school environment. It is true that

All works no play makes Jack a full dog.
But then too much of every thing is bad because. All play and no work make the same Jack a dullard.

Always give the home work as a teacher to keep them busy at home that will make them have less time to plays.

RECREATIONAL ACTIVITIES

This help children to be in good moods and feel loved and cared for. It not be teaching upon teaching all the time as this can make the brain stuffy and begin to lose concentration. There should be a time for recess and relish

EXCERCISE

Excrecise help in the develop and functioning of the brain. And helps one both kids and adults to be smart and always at alert

INDIVIDUAL DIFFERENCES

Psychologically speaking, there is what is call individual differences, meaning that no two individuals are the same. Some are slow learners like me while other leran very fast

REPEAT TEACHING AND EMPHASIS

A good teacher is one who repeats one thing over and over again until even the fullest pupil/student in his class is able to grap the lesson.

APPLY DIFFERENT METHOD

Different Methodology should be employed and applied when teaching. A good teacher using
different methods to pass down his lesson.
There is this saying that:

"It is only a mad man who does the same thing the same way and expect a different Result"

Which means if you want to get a different Result, change your method.

THE POWER OF POSITIVE CONFESSION, PARENTS SHOULD ALWAYS CONFESS POSITIVE THINGS UPON THEIR CHILDREN

Life and death is in the tongu
Curses or blessings parent pronounce on their wards work magic in their lives. You can't be calling your child, idiot, stupid, useless, dullard,mad, and so on every day and expect him to be something different

PRAYER

This is the first attempt as we as the final resort. When all methods work pray and when all methods fail also pray. Don't neglect prayer. Simple prayer is potent enough to convert a dullard to a Brilliant person. And change the fullest to the Bravest.
If Dr Benjamin Carson, who was written off as the fullest in his class by his teacher can ride to the position of The Best Neurosurgeon in the world then there is hope for every child under the sun. Dear teacher don't be in a haste to conclude. Prayer is a wonder worker. It can do what nothing else could do.

Conclusion

For you to be able to make a kid think faster and smarter You must check if all these areas mentioned are in place and intact.
