Week #8 || Draw a Gorilla by @nsisong99 || Club100
To begin, I wish to confess that I could have been here with my drawing earlier but for some challenges I encountered at the initial stage of the exercise. Awor nkesaña nyem ebok si'yaya. Ntoyoke-toyo aba ke ebok ammi ado nsimbo ebok, and nsimbo ebok isiyayake iso.
Pardon me, I was simply relating in my dialect (Ibibio) that initially I had some challenge. I went into the jungle looking everywhere for not just gorillas but also one that is quite fine and good looking.
So, after several hours of frantic and fruitless search, it dawned on me that all gorillas are the same, ugly!
That's when it dawned on me that I should come back and use all tricks up my sleeve to draw any gorilla of my choice. Below are the steps I followed. Bear in mind that I used the lit screen tracing technique to draw my gorilla.
First, I had to pick a gorilla. And I fancied this pregnant drunk fellow. Trust me, this gorilla was just laughing nanzenze (nonsense) all thru.
Next, I had to get my plain sheet of paper onto the screen and adjust the screen brightness 🔅🔆🔆🔆 u till I could reasonably see the inebriated gorilla on this other side of the paper.
Next, I simply started tracing using pencil. First making the outline around the image on screen.
Next, I made sure essential contours were marked out using light and think pencil shades.
Next, I applied a signage of my username and a district shade for the trees and bushes around the foreground.
Last, compare your new drawing against the original and clap for yourself.
Finally I posed with my gorilla for a selfie of two
About Gorillas
Gorillas apes, who live mostly on ground (rarely on trees like monkeys do). They eat mainly plants not animals and fishes. Gorillas are found in the tropical forests of equatorial Africa. It is believed that the DNA of gorillas is highly similar to that of humans, from 95 to 99% depending on what is included.
Gorillas are considered highly intelligent. Like the other great apes, gorillas can laugh, grieve, have "rich emotional lives", develop strong family bonds, make and use tools, and think about the past and future.
I have not been privileged to see this great ape one-on-one. But given the opportunity I would love to make it happen. Apes are beneficial to man in so many ways. They are exciting to watch and study.
