Greetings amazing people and friends.
I warmly welcome you to another beautiful week and another exciting class.

It’s still me @nneoma08 reporting from my Jolly Phonics classroom.

I trust we’re all doing great and that we had a wonderful week.

In our last Jolly Phonics class, we learnt the group four sounds and their words examples.
I felt so good that some of you did my homework and you performed so well. Thank you all so much.👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽

So, this week we’re going to look at the Level 5 and 6 sounds together. I combined both lessons because our summer holiday is almost over. It’s going to be a lengthy class but I know we can handle it😉

Great! So, Group 5 letters sounds include; z, w, ng, v, oo, oo
while Group 6 letters sounds include; y, x, ch, sh, th, th

Here we go:

GROUP 5 LETTERS SOUNDS AND THEIR WORDS EXAMPLES.

1. z as in zip, zest, zap⚡️, fizz, buzz etc.
   

2. w as in wind 💨, week, went, wait, west etc.
   

3. ng as in strong 💪🏾, sing, wing, king🤴, hang etc.
   

4. v as in van, vest, vail, vast, vain etc.
   

5. oo as in good, foot🦶, look 👀, book 📖, cook 👩‍🍳etc. This particular sound says the short or single sound of o.
   

6. oo as in zoo, food 🥘, room, pool 🏊, moon 🌙 etc. This sound is similar to number 5 but it says the long sound like letter u.
   

GROUP 6 LETTERS SOUNDS AND THEIR WORDS EXAMPLES

1. y as in yam 🍠, yes, yap, yum 😋, yuck 🤢etc.
   

2. x as in box 📦, six, pox, fix, next etc.
   

3. ch as in chat 💭, chin, check, chest, lunch etc.
   

4. sh as in fish🐟, shop, shut, short, ship 🛳 etc.
   

5. th as in thin, thing, teeth 🦷, three, thick etc. I call this sound the soft th and the one in number 7 the hard th for easier understanding.
   

6. th as in this, that, them, then, than etc.

I have a short video to show us how the sounds are made and to note some differences in similar sounds but I will send them in for our next class.

Find one words of your own for each of the sounds treated above and use them to make simple sentences.
So in all, you’re making twelve (12) simple sentences for me.
