It is our 17th wedding anniversary today

It is another 365 days in our marriage. Yes. We are grateful to the Almighty for granting us yet another year of togetherness. It is 17 years already in this our union.

The journey hasn't been a rosy one but we are still carrying on. We are not the perfect couple but we have got some secrets that have been pulling is through thick and thin.

Love is the foremost thing that has kept us together. First is love for the Almighty and his view about marriage. He intend that marriage last as long as the couple are alive. We respect his view of marriage and want to obey that view. Only when there is a valid grand for divorce will he allow married couple to separate or divorce. But in all, we are grateful.

17 years of tolerance

Well, to celebrate this day, preparations were made for cakes to be baked. I and my children decided to make the cake as we did last year. We got the ingredients ready. It was a big cake because @emacoz decided to join us in our celebration since their was as yesterday, 8th December and that was their 11th anniversary. They did have time to celebrate due to some engagements. They told me that they will like to join with us.

Ingredients for the cake

3kg of all purpose flour
750ml of milk
750g of butter
2 cups of sugar
24 eggs
12 pinches of salt
12 teaspoons of vanilla extract
21 teaspoons of baking powder
Milk flavour (optional but as desired)
Water as desired

We mixed butter and sugar together

Mixed egg and milk and vanilla extract along with milk flavour

Mixed flour, baking powder and salt together.

Added egg mixture I to butter mixture and combined evenly

Then added the mixtures to the flour mixture along with water to get the desired texture.

Greased the pans and poured the mixture in the baking pains and baked.

To bake, we preheated the oven at 175° Celsius and then baked for 30 to 50 minutes. Or until toothpick comes out clean.

Note that the battery was divided into 2, one part was mixed with chocolate and the other part was left that way.

We baked in batches of 3 until all was baked.

Sorry, we didn't add any icing. These was done yesterday and kept for the celebration today.

By 4pm today, we had the company of our couple friend, @bossj23, @kidi40 @emishael60, @jewel005 and others.

The celebration took a form of what we did back then during the wedding. But it began when the anchor, bossj23 asked us to relate our love journey. We related how we met and how we got married. The other couple did same. We cute the cake and then fed ourselves with cake and wine.

It was then item 7 and dance dance. It was awesome!

Well, we are not over yet. We are still together but we need the help of the Almighty at all times and the application of bible principles to succeed.

I thank God for my kids that has turned blessings to the union. They are really here for us. Most times they act as judges when they notice that we aren't in good terms, they always want us to settle immediately and get back together because the home is sweeter when we are together. With them, we strive as much as possible to be united because kids will like to learn from us and we must show example for them to learn from.

We are moving and will keep moving. It's happy anniversary to us @benton3 and myself ngoenyi along with our Princes @fortwis09 and our prince @wizzyboy3. We are grateful to all.
