I hereby apply for the community support program for the month of October, 2021. The month of September was a wonderful one as we all in steemkids community strived hard and are still striving to meet up with the standards that are required by communities. I am glad that we were chosen for September and I will be glad if we are chosen again for this month. Below are the reasons why we should be chosen,

COMMUNITY PURPOSE

The community purpose of steemkids community is to touch the lives of kids all over the world through steemit. We focus on kids and we make sure that our activities are for kids.

We are focused on recruiting, mentoring and rewarding these kids through our various projects. These kids around the world matter to us and we love them so much that is why we want to help them develop and join the whole world as it is advancing towards the Blockchain and it's technologies.

Steemkids community does not discriminate and as such we welcome every child with an open arm despite their background or status. We have members who love and cherish kids a lot and thus produce contents that the kids around the world benefit from. These kids are as well learning so fast. Their contents and it's quality shows that they have found a home where they can relax and do their things in steemkids community.

The number of verified kids are increasingly increasing which shows that we are really focussed on the kids.

We are not going to shrink back this coming month and continues. We are going to keep making improvements to ensure that we catch these kids young through our various projects.

Roadmap/ Proposed Projects

To reach the kids around the world and onboard them, we have various projects that are ongoing.

• Our catch them young 🌱🌱🌱 recruitment contest.
  This contest has been ongoing for more than a month now and continues. These has given rise to a good number of kids being recruited and most have fulfilled the requirements of joining steemkids community and are verified. It will interest you to note that we have 37 kids who have joined us and many more are still in the pipeline. We accept kids between the ages of 8 to 18 who can read and write and who have the basic requirements to blog. Below are the verified kids. We only verify kids who have completed their achievement 1 post in the newcomers community achievement program.

To help retain these kids and help them feel at home, I have created a group in telegram, known as s-kids corner. The essence of this group is to interact with these kids and these will help us to know the most active kids for each week and thus reward the child, to encourage him or her and thus move others to be active as well. It is just a new group, soon the kids will start joining.

• It will interest you to note that we have recently added steemkids community cryptoacademy where @benton3 is taking the kids on cryptoacademy lessons. He always try his best to breakdown the courses such that it will be easier for the kids to understand.

• we accept publications on areas that can benefit kids like, we have various hashtags which can give kids lovers and even our kids the type of publications to make in the community. They include

We know that it is during school period that we can carry out most of our projects. For the month of August and early September, most schools have been on vacation but most have resumed this month of late September and so we still have in mind to carry out the following projects in various schools which will help us onboard more kids.

• We will continue our vacation projects where we have teachers who publish weekly lessons and assignments for the Verified kids. We also reward the kids for their participation. The essence of continuing this is for those kids who are not back to school and those who are disadvantaged and are out of school.

We are all committed to our service and as such we carry out our duties without discrimination. Our delimitation is the whole world that is why we are 13 from various major regions of the world.

Most of our team members are involved in running the community and they sometimes receive rewards though not fixed.

Community Curation Account

@steemkidss is the community curation account for steemkids community. All the community publications are made using that account and all rewards and earnings go to the account wallet

• Effective steempower is 14,067.31 SP, 5,281.01 is the community's steempower while 8,786.30 is delegated.

• Voting CSI: we have 81 upvotes, 62 accounts, last 7d )

• At 100% the community account alone votes at $0.24

• We are also building a curation trail using the community account and we have 176 followers and we are ranking 6th in number among the most popular. At 100%, we vote at $1.02. we are still building it.

• The #savebypowerup contest we do every Sunday is helping us to grow our steempower. We now have +5000 steempower as a result and we will continue to build our steempower so as to enable us support the kids that join us regularly.

• Our next target is to hit +10000 steempower before the next application. This is because, we are targeting a long term +50000sp before we clock one year

Are all the post rewards powered up, or are they used for paying delegators or members of the community team?

Not all rewards are powered up because we pay out mod awards and The rewards we are going to pay delegators are curation rewards. Because this community has a going concern in mind, we reward the mods to be able to keep the account separated from our personal accounts. This is in line with the entity principle of accounting which says that the business is a being or entity just like the owner and thus deserve to have a separate life from that of it's owner. So the earnings of the community account is not withdrawn for personal use but for purposes concerning the community.

• We have recently started paying Delegators. With the help of @alejos7ven, we did a text run for close to one week and then set it to be a monthly payment to be paid out every 1st of the month. The payment is just 80% of the curation rewards that is given to the delegators.

• We have been powering up every week in our #savebypowerup Sunday contest and this has been helping us to grow our steempower. If not for the rewards and prices of the contests we run in the community, all our earnings would have just been for powerups and nothing more. But we will keep making sure that most of the earnings are powered up especially after expenses. This we can't achieve without support.

Plagiarism & Abuse

It is the duty of every MOD on duty to check for plagiarism and abuse. We all join hands together to fish out plagiarized contents and advice them accordingly.

We have recently added @endingplagiarism as one of our MODs so that he can help us with that.

The penalty for offenders is that such persons are not supported with our community curation account neither do we choose the publication as best picks of the day. However, we have not gotten serious offender or stubborn abuser. If we do, we will mute such. Plagiarism is an urgly threat, and so we have zero tolerance of it.

Engagement & Commenting

Steemit has the social aspect. In fact, it is a social media platform which aims at connecting individuals together. And as such, there is need for members to engage with one another. This can only be achieved through comments.

We at steemkids community try as much as possible to comment on publications using the community official account. MODs as well try their best to ensure that no publication pays out without comments.

Steemkidss community has also created a telegram group where all members are expected to drop their post links. The rules guiding it is that for each link you drop, you must make comments on at least 2 other posts and go back to the group and indicate which you have commented on. This way, members are helped to engage with one another.

as at the time of this post, our total community subscribers is 1580 while the active posters are 285 which represents 18% of subscribers. This active poster can flunctuate.

It will interest you to note that most our quality posts for each day are picked from that group and this has encouraged members to use that post links group

Updates

It is just ideal for communities to publish weekly updates of the progress they have made for the week. This helps to evaluate performances and encourage improvements. We at steemkids community publish weekly updates. This is the link to the last update that we published.

Promotion

Promotion of steem and the community is one of the things we hold so dear. We do not toil with it because we truly understand the benefits.

Our community ambassadors are doing great in this aspect, taking the lead in promoting steem to the world.

We have our branded t-shirts that we use every Tuesday to promote steem.

Below are the t-shirts for the promotion. Starting with the cities we are residing, Uyo city, where our ambassador no. 01 is residing to other cities like where our other ambassadors are residing like @charis20 and her team even others around the world. No wonder the number of verified kids are increasing.

• We are live on discord channel, telegram and Facebook. We promote the community as well as steemit

• Our operation #catchthemyoung contest is geared towards that direction of promoting steem to the world.

• Our holiday lessons project helped to promote steem because most kids signed up so that they can participate.

• Now that school has resumed, plans are on ground to promote steem in schools. I have printed t-shirts for kids who will participate in competitions and win. This way, both parents, teachers and kids can learn about steemit and get the chance to join us.

What Else?

• We deserve the community support program to continue because, our @skids-charity will be in full use from now that school has opened. We want to hold competitions in school and support less previllaged kids with the resources there. Without the support, it will be hard to accomplish.

• We deserve to receive this month's support because we want to continue with our projects. We are focusing on a group (kids) who need assistance and support. We reward them and those who teach them.

• If we get the support, it will help us to keep building our steempower which in turn will help us to support these kids. Like I promised in my last application for September that I will always keep building the community account through power ups, this I have continued without let irrespective of how little our earnings are. The community earnings can never be diverted for something else other than what it is meant for which is to support kids and build steempower of the community account.

• We encourage only #steemexclusive publications.

• Schools have opened and as such our promotional activities will be targeted on school kids. This support will help us carry out these promotions in earnest.

• we are still looking out for professionals in kneading, crafts, computer trainer and any other relevant skills that the kids should learn at their early stage to empower them. With the promotion we are doing, we will soon get these ones as arrangements are ongoing already for it.

CONCLUSION

I strongly believe in your good heart and good judgement as those who will not allow the kids around the world to go unsupported. So, I am certain that you will give us a positive and kind consideration again as those who are yet to build their reputation and steempower so as to support these little kids who are struggling to survive in this harsh and unlovely world. I believe that as they are joining us, they will find solace, comfort and relief here in the steemkids community and steemit at large.
