Well, in my opinion, the stigma of in-laws and daughters-in-law is identical to being prone to conflict, especially if both live under one roof. However, Ranti, my neighbor managed to dismiss that assumption. Her mother-in-law asked Ranti and her husband to live with her since 2022, because she wanted to help take care of her beloved grandchildren.

At first it was difficult, but Ranti tried to get close to her mother-in-law quickly. Moreover, her presence helped because she and her husband both worked. Many in-laws have conflicts with their daughters-in-law, because of different principles in raising children. Ranti always communicates all the rules for her two children, even though she lives in the same house with her in-laws, her husband has the right to determine the parenting pattern that is applied. But that doesn't mean that daily life with in-laws always runs smoothly. There are times when he has to be ready to accept criticism and suggestions.

"In my personal opinion, in-laws often get hurt by words and so on, they are often sensitive like that. Well, usually just take the positive side of it, be open-minded. So let it go, what I mean is that what is inputted by in-laws or us has its benefits, that is if with them of course we have to follow sometimes what they want, well that is an additional charity for us. Because if not, in the end we take it to heart, are impatient, can't accept it, of course that will be a problem."

Don't let differences in parenting styles cause children to receive different treatment between their mothers and fathers. In addition to being confusing, differences in parenting styles can encourage children to side with parenting styles that are beneficial for them. That is why parenting styles between parties must be synergistic.
