RAM/ROM what to know about them.. || 10% to steemkidss
What is RAM and ROM. Some people get it twisted.. Although some try to guess the meaning at times but its not just the ideal definition. It may interest you to know that the duo differ in meaning.. In todays world almost everything is measured in storage capacity, and the speed at which it moves. Phones, gadgets and lots more are of lesser importance when it dosent meet the required standards of the user.
RAM
RAM is an abbreviation that stands for Random Access Memory. Now some of us who were opportuned to note this in ICT classes at school might probably be conversant with the terminology as "a computer memory where the system stores in temporary file as it will be needing for use as soon as possible. But here's more.
RAM stores data that the computer is actively using inorder words they are some phones that you could be playing candy crush saga and your multitasking like whatsapping or face booking and you are able to interswitch to the apps fluently. Now this aid comes as a result of the RAM. with a low RAM, youll notice that if your using multiple apps on your phone, youll notice that the phone will begin to process slowly in some cases it is called "hanging" as some people may call it.
Now it is worthy of note that some apps can not properly function on a phone if the RAM is low. If the apps are forced on the phone, the ohone begins to heat up severely and in some cases, the phone switches itself and reboots. Thus the importance of the RAM. From the diagram above, RAMs are made in form of integrated circuit (3rd level technology )
TYPED OF RAMS
RAMs can be subdivided into two category;
STATIC RAM
Static RAMs are faster than the other in that it is fast and requires less power or energy to be run, compared to the other.DYNAMIC RAM
Dynamic RAMs are bulkier that static in that they are designed to hold more data than the other thus requires large power.
ROM

ROM is simply the opposite of RAM. Inorder words ROM stores data permanently. Ill take a scenario.. Imagine you have a phone now go check your storage for eg, some phones come with 8gb, 16gb, 32gb, 64gb, 128gb, 132gb etc
But note that phones comes either with the RAM smaller than the ROM and vice versa.
TYPES OF ROM
MROM; (Masked Read Only Memory)
PROM; (Programmable Read Only Memory)
EPROM; (Erasable Programmable Read Only Memory)
EEPROM; (Electronically Erasable Programmable Read only Memory)

Before ending ill give you a little example of a RAM and ROM in a phone.
Oh wow! I’ve always wondered what is the difference between the two but never found the time to actually research it.
Thank you for sharing. I now got my answer 😊
I had the problem of differentiating them too but i had to learn from a computer teacher while still in secondary or high school. Im happy it has been of importance to you
