Joseph, have you started praying for your future marriage? my aunt asked me a while back. That was last year.

When was the last time I prayed for marriage when I'm all focused on making money? I responded, not taking the matter seriously.

My aunt was not happy to hear such nonsense from me. But will you blame me when all they say at home is, Joseph, don't talk about marriage? You know nothing about it. Focus on your studies, graduate, find a job, and then and only then, start praying for marriage? I really love my parents. 😍

You prepare for marriage, you don't prepare during the marriage, my aunt said. Start praying and preparing for marriage now. Forget about all the nonsense you've been told. Start living your own life, not someone else's.

Suddenly, my perspective changed. Obviously, I'm not a kid anymore, and yet I don't have a single potential candidate for marriage offline, except online.

Bro, stay away from online relationships. 𝐾𝑜 𝑙𝑒 𝑤𝑒𝑘. 𝐼𝑡'𝑠 𝑎𝑢𝑑𝑖𝑜. Start a real-life, serious relationship, my younger brother advised me a while back.

Okay, I'll give it a try, I reluctantly agreed.

𝐼𝑡'𝑠 𝑡𝑖𝑚𝑒 𝑡𝑜 𝑏𝑒 𝑠𝑒𝑟𝑖𝑜𝑢𝑠 𝑤𝑖𝑡ℎ 𝑙𝑖𝑓𝑒. 𝑁𝑜 𝑚𝑜𝑟𝑒 𝑡𝑖𝑚𝑖𝑑𝑖𝑡𝑦, 𝑛𝑜 𝑚𝑜𝑟𝑒 ℎ𝑒𝑠𝑖𝑡𝑎𝑡𝑖𝑜𝑛𝑠.

And just about two weeks before writing this content, I spotted this attractive lady wearing a wrapper, crossing the road to her campus. Can you believe a college girl still wears a wrapper around the school area? 😅 Well, that's not my main concern anyway. 😆

Unfortunately, I found myself lacking the courage to initiate a conversation with her. Yet, here was another obstacle in my path! 🤦

Lord, please grant me one more chance to encounter this captivating lady, I silently prayed as I arrived home.

Two days later, I made an effort to arrive at the school earlier than before. And to my great surprise, I spotted that same wonderful lady walking in my direction.

Yes! Thank you, Lord! I exclaimed inwardly. Jo, you absolutely cannot let this opportunity slip away again, I reminded myself.

Thankfully, I had made an effort to appear cute and kempt, putting a finishing touch on my shiny dark hair with an attractive haircut. Yes, I smelled nice.

Hello, good morning, I greeted confidently with a wide smile.

Good morning, sir, she replied calmly.

Are you an IJMB student or—

Yes, an IJMB student, she interrupted, as she continued walking. Unbothered, I kept closing at her pace, fully determined.

Would you be willing to spare me some of your time to speak with you?

I'm sorry, sir, I don't have enough time to spare, she replied.

Oh, that's all right. At the very least, could I have the pleasure of knowing your name?

No, I'm afraid you cannot know my name, sir, she responded bluntly.

𝑊ℎ𝑎𝑡 𝑖𝑛 ℎ𝑒𝑙𝑙 𝑖𝑠 𝑤𝑟𝑜𝑛𝑔 𝑤𝑖𝑡ℎ 𝑡ℎ𝑖𝑠 𝑙𝑎𝑑𝑦? 𝑂𝑟 𝑑𝑖𝑑 𝑠ℎ𝑒 𝑔𝑒𝑡 𝑜𝑢𝑡 𝑜𝑓 𝑏𝑒𝑑 𝑜𝑛 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑤𝑟𝑜𝑛𝑔 𝑠𝑖𝑑𝑒? 𝑊𝑎𝑖𝑡 𝑎 𝑚𝑖𝑛𝑢𝑡𝑒... ℎ𝑜𝑝𝑒 𝑖𝑡'𝑠 𝑛𝑜𝑡 𝑤ℎ𝑎𝑡 𝐼'𝑚 𝑡ℎ𝑖𝑛𝑘𝑖𝑛𝑔? I muttered.

If you don't mind me asking, which church do you attend? I asked, feeling curious.

XYZ church, she replied.

Oh, wow. I see... Same here.

She was stunned.

We can truly understand people by observing their actions. It's a way to gain insight into who they are.

What's wrong in knowing someone's name if not the mistaken belief that anyone who asks for your name or personal information must have some hidden agenda?

I finally convinced the lady to tell me her name, assuring her that I meant no harm. Pissed off at her tough personality, I left her and I never looked back. To date, I haven't set my eyes on her.

Listen, folks, certain beliefs have led us to unnecessary fear. And that's a big problem. Erase wrong belief system!
