Steemit Engagement Challenge S3-W4:Childhood or adulthood, which do you prefer? by @jimah1k

Hello everyone, It’s another day to give thanks to Allah for blessing us with yet another week. And as usual season three of steemit’s engagement challenge continues. I’m actually very excited about this weeks theme which is ‘Childhood or adulthood, which do you prefer’. Without wasting further time let’s go straight ahead.

Who is considered as a child in your country?

The answer to this question may vary from country to country or from a different ethnic group to the other. In my country, a person is considered to be a child when he or she is still below puberty or hasn’t fully completed puberty. When I say below puberty, it means that certain parts of the body haven’t developed or fully developed. These parts include broadening of the chest in males, deep voice, growth of pubic hair in the armpits and private parts and so on.

Now in females, development of breast, enlargement of hips and so on. When these features are not seen or have not fully developed, in my country we refer to that person as a child. The age range for children can range from 0 to 17 it is assumed that at the age 18 you are no longer a child because all these features would have developed by then.

Who is considered as an adult in your country?

This is the exact opposite of everything I said in my explanation of who a child is, in my country Ghana to be precise an adult is someone who has fully completed the puberty age (0 to 17) characteristics of adult’s are in males fully developed chest, growth of pubic hair, deep voice, beard and many more.

Whiles in females, mensuration starts, broadened hips and fully developed breast. At this stage one is no longer considered a child. The males are now capable of fertilizing an ovary whiles the females are able to produce eggs. The age range for an adult could range from 18 and above

Childhood or Adulthood, which do you prefer?

Looking at the two, I prefer childhood to adulthood I will tell you why. As a child, you are being catered for this means that everything you need is provided for you by your parents you don’t have to work for it. All you have to do is ask and that’s all.

Unlike being an adult, you would have to work to provide for your self and also help in taking care of the family in one way or the other. This can be providing financial assistance when the need a raises. As a child you are free from all these things and it’s the other way round.

The second reason why I prefer childhood to adulthood is at the childhood stage, you have a lot to learn. According to research, the brain is usually sharp at that age so they Learn easily and quicker than adults.

When you have the best parenting at that stage, you will grow up to be a responsible man or woman. Likewise if you don’t get the best parenting, you might turn out to be irresponsible. So at this stage of life a lot is at stake.

Last but not the least, As a child when your body hasn’t started puberty or started showing changes, you don’t think about how attracted you are to the opposite sex. There is no way insecurity, you can even come out to bath without any fear or worry.

But for adulthood, once these features start showing, you start thinking of how attracted you are to opposite sex, shyness also steps in and a whole lot of things start going through your head. But as a kid you don’t think about anything because everything will be provided for you.
