Toothbrushing Activity with my Grade 1 Pupils

On March 4, Tuesday, after a week of conducting end of school year activity, a toothpaste company donated toothpaste and toothbrush for all the learners in our school .

Toothbrushing is a good attitude of a child to maintain healthy teeth. Sometimes, it is not given importance at home. Children need guidance especially activity like this.

The Colgate company gave each one a toothbrushes for my 39 pupils then 3 big toothpaste for every classroom. We are instructed not to bring the toothbrush at home, instead it will be practiced everyday at school.

I let them bring a water bottle or a plastic cup each. Our washing area is a little bit sunny. Our handwashing area is too high but they can still reach it. I put toothpaste on echbtoothbrush so they can start together.

They enjoy toothbrushing together. I separate the boys from the girls. I let the 19 girls do the toothbrushing. From our classroom in the 2nd floor, we go down to ground. After the girls, the 21 boys followed.

After they did toothbrushing, I let them sit down and took pictures of them.

As much as possible I want to practice toothbrushing at school. I will insert it if there will be time left in a day.

I dismissed the class at 11am. I can see that they feel the fresh feeling after toothbrushing.
