Good evening to you friends!...

Looking the holy bible I draw some standpoint where there are emphasis are made about the need for forgiveness. It is perceived as the bedrock of earning greater things and breakthrough. People who have grudges should be aware of the dangers of unforgiveness and desist from it.

Apostle Paul in his writings to the Ephesians explained that we show compassion to everyone just as Christ Jesus forgave us our trespasses (Ephesians 4:32). Colossians chapter 3 also points out that we bear and forgive one another instead of keeping grudges.

The saying "to err is human and to forgive is divine" is a saying we are well familiar with. The importance of forgiveness in our everyday lives could be driven by the knowledge of that saying. The peace offered by forgiveness when it is done cannot be discarded.

I recall vividly a real-life story in which forgiveness played a vital role in my household. The importance of forgiveness is always valued when there is an inhouse misunderstanding. These are issues that undermine the existing relative peace we are enjoying at home and within our jurisdiction.

The wedding of my brother was an opportunity for everyone to come together. My elder brother was wedding and we had set everything in place and arrangements set. And just like every other wedding event, it was successful as it came to pass.

Something came up and it was awful it did. A misconception that got the bride, my spouse, my elder sister and myself all tied. I was grieved for the moment and the months that followed through these grudges. We had a long time faceoff between all of us in the home. Numerous things were voiced out of rage and the situation was a home divided against itself.

Few months later in the situation of burden and the faceoff there was a chance for reconciliation. After the reconciliation took place, the burden was lifted off and my spirit pacified. There was no longer need to carry face for the matter.

One characteristic of forgiveness is the removal of unnecessary bitterness of the heart and burdens that on a normal we don't bear. When forgiveness is not done on time, it could result in more direct or indirect damages to us.

A home we all could visit and relax for months as a result of the face-off, we visited and pretended with smiling faces like nothing happened. Well in the first place, it was our undoing to have let the grudges stayed long however as humans we sometimes fail and misfire when upset.

Maintaining moments of unforgiveness is never the nicest thing for us because they tend to place limits on us rather than inspire or uplift us. It is accompanied by resentment and evil thoughts against another as the heart of man is full of wickedness. But on a second thought, is it necessary to keep face-off longer than necessary when it's all about affairs family matter.

It is very much good to exhibit acts of forgiveness in everything we do. There isn't any reason to keep grudges or resentment or let the sun go down on it.

A big thanks to you, friends...

Good evening @hisgeneral! It's great to see your deep thought about forgiveness in the context of family. In fact, forgiveness is emphasized in various teachings, including those found in the Bible, as you point out. Your personal story illustrates the profound impact forgiveness can have on family relationships, from division to reconciliation and peace. The metaphor of the burden being lifted from the shoulders when forgiveness is extended resonates deeply. Thank you for sharing your thoughts and personal experiences with us, and we wish you good luck!
