DIY: How To Make Nutritious Baby Food
Hi Wonderful Parents! I hope you had a wonderful weekend with your wonderful kids, and I wish you all a great week ahead! Today, I will be teaching us how to make nutritious baby food by ourselves; you know, making your baby food at home is a large reward and is a healthy/ nutritious way to introduce your little angel to solid foods. It's better to prepare your baby food because you will have complete control over the ingredients, and it will allow you to choose fresh organic produce and avoid any additives or preservatives that are often found in store-bought options.
Another thing is that homemade baby food is more economical, and you can customize it to suit your baby’s taste preferences and dietary needs. With a few simple tools available at home or in the neighborhood and a selection of wholesome ingredients, you can create a variety of cereals, purees, mash-ups, and solid foods that will help your baby grow healthy and explore new flavors as he/she embarks on his/her journey of eating.
Today I want to show you how to make nutritious baby food using Guinea corn, millet, soya beans, fish, crayfish, dates, tiger nuts, and groundnuts. These ingredients are rich in essential nutrients and can provide a balanced diet for your growing child. They are packed with proteins, Vitamins & minerals, so urging you to introduce this wholesome food for your baby early, immediately after she's six months, if you're doing baby-friendly (exclusive breastfeeding) or from 4 months of age because they promote healthy growth and development., okay let's get to preparations.
***Guinea Corn, Millet, Soya Beans, fish, Crayfish, Dates, tiger nut, and groundnuts.****
- Select, Wash, and sundry your millet, soya beans, guinea corn, and tiger nuts.
- Roast your Soya beans, guinea corn millet, and groundnuts until golden brown.
- Remove the pits From your dates and chop finely.
- Remove bones from your dry fish.
- Next, grind all the grains and other ingredients in a grinder into a fine powder.
To create nutritious baby food, Scoop the ground mixture into the baby's pot, add a moderate amount of water, and stir continuously on low heat to prevent lumps from forming. Cook until it thickens. Adjust the consistency by adding water as needed; the goal is a smooth, palatable puree.
Next is cooling and Serving: Allow the baby food to cool before serving, add Milk, and give it to your baby when it is at room temperature.
If there's a leftover, preserve it in the refrigerator in an airtight container for the next serving.
This food is packed with uncountable health benefits; guinea corn and millet are rich in carbohydrates and fiber, which provides enough energy and aids digestive health. So, roasting these grains to be golden brown enhances their flavor and nutritional profile.
Soya beans are a complete and fantastic source of protein and essential amino acids; soya beans are important for your baby's growth and can fortify your baby's diet. Roasting them adds a sweet flavor.
Fish and Crayfish: Both are essential sources of omega-3 fatty acids that support your baby's brain development. These ingredients add savory depth to the baby food.
Dates & Tiger Nuts: are naturally sweet, and are rich in fiber and other important vitamins. It will serve as a natural sweetener, thus reducing the need for you to add sugars to your baby food. It's good for the baby's gut's health, too. They give baby food a creamy texture, making the food more appealing to babies.
Groundnuts: Are healthy fats and rich in protein, and they add flavor and nutrition.

I am not a baby, but i love taking this food. I started eating it some time back in 2019. I enjoy eating it. But i don't know the preparation process though, so this post has helped me in knowing how to process it.
