Introduction to tailoring

Tailoring is the alteration of clothing to fit a specific individual. It typically involves altering the fit, length, and proportions of a garment to improve its look and comfort. Tailoring can also involve altering the fabric or dyeing it to better match the customer's skin tone .There are three main types of tailoring: general tailoring, which alters all aspects of a garment, alteration tailoring, which alters only specific aspects of a garment, and detail tailoring, which alters just one or two specific details on a garment.

Five terminology used in tailoring

Measurements

Measurements means to take the size of a person who wants to fit the dress properly and accurately Measurements is one of the most important thing for creating a good looking and perfectly fit dress with the help of measuring tape. The person who know how to measurements can sew any outfit depending on how he want that dress to be looked.

Sewing

Sewing is a process of joining fabric by sewing threads through the fabric layers. The purpose of sewing is to create a seam or joint that will hold the two fabrics together and keep them from separating. Sewing is done with a thread a needle and a fabric it’s basically an art there are many types of stitches used for sewing including overcast, zigzag, straight stitch and bias tape. Each has its own specific uses and should be used in a particular manner to achieve the desired result.
To start sewing, you need to find your fabric and thread. You can purchase these items at most stores or online. Once you have your materials, it is time to get started. To sew a seam, you will need to find the right spot on your fabric and position the fabric so that the right side of the fabric is facing up. Next, you will need to cut the fabric to the correct length and make sure that the seam allowance is included. Finally, you will need to line up the edges of the fabric and sew through both layers using your chosen stitch.

Weaving in tailoring means that the warp (a long thread of cotton or other fiber) is drawn over the weft (a short thread), which is then pulled tight. The end result is a fabric with a textured surface .Weaving is an ancient technique that has been used to create fabric for thousands of years. The first woven fabrics were probably made from plant fiber, but over the centuries, woven fabrics have been made from a variety of materials, including cotton, wool, silk, and rayon.
Weaving is an important part of the fabric industry. The world’s largest weaving center is in China, and the global market for woven fabrics is estimated to be worth more than $120 billion.

cutting fabrics

Cutting fabric is also the main part in tailoring. Cutting fabric allows the tailor to create a perfect fit for a customer. The tailor will take into account factors such as height, weight, and body type to create a garment that is comfortable and flattering.

Seemstress

Seemstress is a women who earns money by using his expertise in tailoring basically this specific word is used for a women who is a tailor.

A tailor may provide financial support if you know how to take your measurements and alterations will be made accordingly. Additionally, a tailor may offer tips or advice on styling and wardrobe choices. Or in the other hand if you try to become a tailor its very much beneficial to the family and to yourself as well.

Emergency

Most people prefer to have clothes that fit well and look good. However, occasionally something goes wrong with the clothing and it needs to be fixed as soon as possible. Tailors can help fix the problem on the spot.

Basic necessity

One of the basic necessity is tailoring with help of which you can solve your one problem from many. Now a days tailoring is expensive if you do it for yourself and for your family you can cut out these expenses on you own.
You can help and solve a variety of clothing problems, such as finding the right size, getting a perfect fit, and making adjustments for special occasions. You can also help your loved ones with styling issues as well.
