The Diary Game (02/06/2024) - Olivia and Chloe goes to Church
Introduction |
---|
We looked forward to days of special events ahead and felt they were farther and would take longer but how time flies! No matter how long it feels before the expected manifests, the reality hits us and we look back to see that the journey isn't that far.
Our twins joined the family some weeks ago and before our own eyes they are 40 days and ready for dedication in the church. Let me share my diary with you today.

In Baptist doctrine in this region of the world, we dedicate our newborns to church 40 days or more after birth. At the same time, it's also worth highlighting that it all depends on what time the family wants on when they want their kids to be introduced to the church.
We believe after this dedication, the newborns are ready to explore the world moving around town with the parents. But before then, they remain indoors until dedication except on mother's clinic days (for the mother who doesn't want to leave her newborns at home).
Olivia and Chloe clocked 40 days today which happens to be a Sunday and the first one in June. We deem it fit not to procrastinate any longer as such we are headed out for their dedication to the church today.
My lil cuties are ready for their dedication
It's the Baptist's youth week kickstarting today which means a lot of effects are surrounding my babies' dedication. The youth of the church would be in charge of the entire program till the rest of the week and I'm privileged to be on the list of deacons for the service today.
The service started at 9:30 am and after the praise worship, we were called forward for the babies' dedication. It's a beautiful atmosphere watching close to half of the church leaving their seats to rejoice with us at the front of the church.
The picture above shows the youth president of the church, the youth pastor and the church leader during the dedication of our babies.
There was a series of pictures taken during the brief preaching time on how to raise the kids in the way of the Lord and a special prayer for the kids on their dedication.
My mom and wifey's mom
We are filled with joy having the people of God gathered to celebrate with us. It was 13 years ago when twins (or more than a baby at birth) were produced in our church and I think we have just opened a new chapter in the church.
The service proceeded after our babies' dedication while the topic Newness was preached during the sermon time, with the main scriptural readings from the book of Isaiah 43:19 and Isaiah 49:19.
It was a really interesting service that ended at noon, my kids were already sleeping at this time and we left the church. I couldn't take my breakfast in the morning as such that was the first thing I did after arriving home. I had 2.5 hours of sleep in the afternoon to recover from the midnight stress my babies gave us either when they wanted to eat, craving attention or while feeling distressed due to excretions in their diapers that needed a change.
It was the alarm that woke me at 16:30 because we would have a house fellowship at 17:00. I returned home around 19:00, had my dinner and helped to pat one of my babies who was ready to leave her mom's breast even after spending a longer time.
The babies are asleep now and I am using that opportunity to create a diary article of how the day went. Thank you for reading and I believe my diary article leaves a smile on your face.

They are 41 days old today. Thanks for the warm welcome to the community, ma'am.
I'm honoured to receive this. Olivia and Chloe gave me the avenue to be a super dad. I will surely deliver your message to their mother.
Thank you, boss.
Oh, ok. But some churches do that after the kids are 3 months old. I am just learning about this one now. Great! They are really growing.
Alright, regards
That's where the doctrine or the choice of parents comes into play. Regardless of the doctrine, parents can decide when they will take their newborns to church for dedication.
Yes, they really are.
