Introduction

Hi steem parents and kids, it's my pleasure to tell you about my day today, 9th November 2024. It's Saturday, and so, I woke up by 7am. To me, it was early for a non-working day. That's because I had an event I wanted to attend. Though unlike other days, I usually wake up by 5am in order to meet up with time as I'll have to sign a time book in my office.

Morning Activities

I woke up to prepare breakfast for my family, after which I washed clothes and also mopped the floor before I bathed and headed to my main day's event.

Doing house chores

On Tuesday, one of my choir members approached me after Tuesday worship and said she was inviting me to her convocation on Saturday. I said ok, and then joked about it and said "do people still go to school for further education in this hard economy?" And we all laughed.

It was just casual and so, I had no intention of attending the convocation because Saturdays are usually so busy for me. But when I logged into our choir WhatsApp group, it was her birthday on Thursday and one of us wished her a happy birthday and also addressed her as Doctor (Dr).

That was when I knew that she was going to do her phD convocation. I was amazed. Like my chorister is blessed to this level? As a choir director, and I won't attend? I said no, I must attend the convocation no matter how tight my schedule would be.

Afternoon Activities

That's how I made up my mind to be there. After the chores at home, I quickly arranged myself and zoomed off to the University of Uyo, Nigeria, to celebrate with her. When I got there, they were still in the hall. As we sat outside in the tent, a lady came with packs of bottled water and asked if we needed water. In my mind I was like, "did I tell her I wanted to buy water?" Before I could think of that, she stretched out her hand and handed a bottle to me. She said it was free of charge from the school.

Wow! So thoughtful of them. Though I waited long before I could see her, I wasn't bothered because it was worth the wait.

When they were finally done, and the event's proceedings came to an end, she called to locate where I was. Immediately she saw me, she was overwhelmed that she appreciated I was there. I felt fulfilled and relieved. Though no member of the choir showed up, as a leader, I was happy I didn't miss it. So, I present to you Dr./Dcns./Mrs Nsydear.

Evening Activities/Leaving the Convocation ground

After the taking of pictures, she gave a light refreshment. I headed home because I needed to pick up my children and go for choir rehearsal. After the rehearsal, I returned home. By the time I got home, it was already past 8 o'clock. I had to rush to the kitchen to prepare dinner for my family, after which I sat down to engage on steemit.
