The Kids That Love Me.

I am glad I was able to come across such an amazing contest, though at the last minute, but better late than never. We all have kids who love to flock around us. I have this little girl in my neighborhood who gives me joy anytime she's around.

Sometimes I feel as if there's a bond between us; anywhere I go, she wants to accompany me. The only barrier is that they are Muslims; if not, she would have been following me to church.

I love her as much as she loves me, and I love it when she is around because she keeps doing and saying things that make me laugh.

For sure, one cannot say exactly what the kids see in you that gets them attached, but here are a few reasons why Khadija loves me.

I Buy Her Candy: I noticed she loved candy a lot, and I tried to make sure each time we went out, I got her one. Funny enough, once she's with this candy, she does not remember going home.

Play With Her: She's a playful type; each time she comes around, she kicks me and threatens to break my hand, I play along, shouting how painful her kick was.

Only Me Can Calm Her Down: Khadija is playful only when she's around me; once she goes back home, you will hear her voice. Her siblings must have touched her or something. Immediately after they bring her to me, she stops crying and tries to break my hand.

This little girl always has me in mind; even in their house after cooking and her mom is trying to dish out food, I can hear her saying they should add me to the count. From wherever I am, I cannot help but feel special.

Well, I cannot say that because the love is coming from a kid, it makes me feel less, instead, I feel very happy. You know kids can't pretend to love you, so if a child loves you, then you are lucky because that is the realest love.

I reciprocate by making sure she is always safe; her siblings most times don't even know where she is, but I am always watching her move, ensuring no harm comes her way.

In conclusion, the love you get from kids is the best kind, as they cannot pretend to love you when they don't. Adults can pretend to love you when they don't, if a child loves you, they will hang around you; if they don't, they try to avoid you at all costs.
