Lección 01: Introducción al Dibujo Digital – Lesson 01: Introduction to Digital Drawing - @carlaisl

Me complace presentarles mi primera publicación en la comunidad como Tutora de Dibujo Digital. Mediante mis lecciones de dibujo, les estaré enseñando y guiando en el maravilloso mundo de colores, en base a todo lo que he aprendido autodidácticamente. ¡Espero que sea de su agrado mi trabajo y que aprendan mucho!

Hoy les presento mi primera lección, relacionada con las bases fundamentales del arte digital. ¡Ahora sí! Comencemos:

Consiste en realizar ilustraciones o dibujos mediante aplicaciones de dibujo, las cuales ofrecen en general un lienzo en blanco y variadas herramientas que nos permiten desde hacer una línea, hasta colorear y elaborar un lindo dibujo.

El arte utiliza medios tecnológicos, como lo son computadoras. Por esta razón, las primeras personas que incursionaron en el dibujo digital eran ingenieros y científicos ¿Increíble, no? A continuación te presento algunos de los momentos históricos más destacables para el dibujo digital:

- 1962: El ingeniero estadounidense Michael Noll, elaboró imágenes con patrones al estilo artístico, mediante un ordenador. Su trabajo es uno de los más conocidos del “arte por computadora”.

- 1964: El artista estadounidense Charles “Chuck” Csuri, conocido como “padre del arte digital y la animación por computadora" elaboró animaciones y cortometrajes mediante computadora.

-1980: El profesor y artista británico Harold Cohen, fue el creador de un programa para dibujar llamado AARON, siendo destacable porque el mismo empleaba un sistema robótico que permitía dibujar en grandes hojas de papel en el piso. Este también fue un hito para la inteligencia artificial.

- 1985: Surge nuestro querido programa Paint, un programa gráfico proveniente de la empresa Microsoft. Permite realizar fácilmente dibujos desde la computadora, siendo muy usado actualmente para el arte de pixeles.

Hoy en día existen muchas herramientas que nos permiten llevar a cabo nuestras obras creativas digitales. No te preocupes si no tienes todas las que menciono a continuación, con la primera bastará (es la única que yo tengo, jajaja):

1. Teléfono o Tableta Táctil: Ésta herramienta será la esencial para que puedas dibujar digitalmente. No debes tener el teléfono o tableta más cara o grande del mercado, con una sencilla, que conste de almacenamiento para guardar tus dibujos y una pantalla táctil que funcione, todo estará bien.

Personalmente, yo comencé mis primeros dibujos con una tableta Huawei MediaPad 10 Link+ y actualmente dibujo solamente con mi teléfono Samsung A12. Al principio tenía miedo, porque cambié de un dispositivo con pantalla más grande, a uno con una más pequeña, pero con la práctica logre adaptarme bien. ¡Tú también puedes!

2. Lápiz digital: Un lápiz digital te puede facilitar dibujar mediante tu teléfono o tableta. No te preocupes si no puedes adquirir uno, con tus manos también puedes crear tus dibujos, yo lo logré con mucha práctica y amor, así que tú también puedes.

3. Aplicación de Dibujo: Existen muchísimas aplicaciones de dibujo que te ayudarán a crear tus obras. En mis lecciones te recomiendo y estaré trabajando con la conocida, sencilla, completa y amada por muchos artistas digitales: Ibis Paint X. Te recomiendo utilizar la mencionada aplicación para que puedas realizar las futuras tareas con más facilidad, pero si gustas puedes emplear cualquier otra aplicación de dibujo, como por ejemplo: Paint Tool SAI, Photos Procreate, Clip Studio Paint, entre otras. En general, pueden contar con herramientas y funciones similares a Ibis Paint.

Desde que tengo uso de razón, dibujaba a mano (tradicional) y en hojas recicladas. Todo lo relacionado al dibujo lo aprendí por mi cuenta, es decir, de forma autodidacta. El dibujo a mano es una buena base para emprender en el dibujo digital, pero ambas tienen las siguientes diferencias:

Dibujo a Mano (Tradicional): Utiliza hojas de papel, cartulinas, lápices de colores, bolígrafos, entre otros materiales físicos para el dibujo. Todo es llevado a cabo mediante las manos.

Dibujo Digital: Utiliza las herramientas mencionadas en el punto anterior, para dibujar. Todo es basado en la tecnología, pero no se deja de lado la creatividad y trabajo al igual que en el dibujo a mano.

Desde que comencé a formarme por mi cuenta en el dibujo digital, conocí a muchos buenos artistas que me inspiraron, siendo una de ellas la española youtuber, novelista e ilustradora Gema Vadillo. ¡Te invito a ver sus ilustraciones mediante su Instagram! : Link

Por otro lado, en internet siempre encontré a muchos que desprestigiaban al dibujo digital, expresando que “todo lo hace la tableta y aplicación”. ¡Esto es falso! El dibujo digital utiliza herramientas, pero las mismas no tienen valor si no son accionadas por la persona y de forma creativa. Es igual al dibujo a mano, pues el artista utiliza una hoja de papel y lápices de colores para crear sus obras.

Personalmente opino que dibujar de forma digital o a mano son dos expresiones artísticas preciadas y hermosas. Ambas requieren de aprendizaje, esfuerzo, horas de dedicación y amor al arte, para lograr el dibujo deseado. Todo esto lo he aprendido porque me he desarrollado en ambas, así que ¡Admiremos el arte del dibujo en todas sus formas!

Today I present my first lesson, related to the fundamental bases of digital art. Now yes! Let's start:

It consists of making illustrations or drawings using drawing applications, which generally offer a blank canvas and various tools that allow us to make a line, to color and make a nice drawing.

Art uses technological means, such as computers. For this reason, the first people who dabbled in digital drawing were engineers and scientists. Incredible, right? Here are some of the most notable historical moments for digital drawing:

- 1962: The American engineer Michael Noll, elaborated images with patterns in the artistic style, by means of a computer. His work is one of the best known of "computer art".

- 1964: The American artist Charles "Chuck" Csuri, known as the "father of digital art and computer animation" made animations and short films by computer.

- 1980: The British teacher and artist Harold Cohen, was the creator of a drawing program called AARON, being notable because it used a robotic system that allowed drawing on large sheets of paper on the floor. This was also a milestone for artificial intelligence.

- 1985: Our beloved Paint program appears, a graphic program from the Microsoft company. It allows you to easily make drawings from the computer, currently being widely used for pixel art.

Today there are many tools that allow us to carry out our digital creative works. Don't worry if you don't have all the ones I mention below, the first one will suffice (it's the only one I have, hahaha):

1. Phone or Touch Tablet: This tool will be essential for you to be able to draw digitally. You don't have to have the biggest or most expensive phone or tablet on the market, with a simple one, consisting of storage to save your drawings and a working touch screen, you'll be fine.

Personally, I started my first drawings with a Huawei MediaPad 10 Link+ tablet and currently I only draw with my Samsung A12 phone. At first I was scared, because I changed from a device with a larger screen to one with a smaller one, but with practice I managed to adapt well. You also can!

2. Digital pen: A digital pen can make it easier for you to draw using your phone or tablet. Don't worry if you can't acquire one, with your hands you can also create your drawings, I achieved it with a lot of practice and love, so you can too.

3. Drawing Application: There are many drawing applications that will help you create your works. In my lessons I recommend you and I will be working with the well-known, simple, complete and loved by many digital artists: Ibis Paint X. I recommend you use the aforementioned application so that you can carry out future tasks more easily, but if you like you can use any other drawing application, such as: Paint Tool SAI, Photos Procreate, Clip Studio Paint, among others. In general, they can have tools and functions similar to Ibis Paint.

Since I can remember, I drew by hand (traditional) and on recycled sheets. I learned everything related to drawing on my own, that is, self-taught. Drawing by hand is a good base to start in digital drawing, but both have the following differences:

Hand Drawing (Traditional): Use sheets of paper, cardboard, colored pencils, pens, among other physical materials for drawing. Everything is carried out by hands.

Digital Drawing: Use the tools mentioned in the previous point, to draw. Everything is based on technology, but creativity and work are not left aside, as in hand drawing.

Since I began to train on my own in digital drawing, I met many good artists who inspired me, one of them being the Spanish youtuber, novelist and illustrator Gema Vadillo. I invite you to see her illustrations through her Instagram! : Link

On the other hand, on the internet I always found many who discredited digital drawing, expressing that “everything is done by the tablet and the application”. This is false! Digital drawing uses tools, but they have no value if they are not activated by the person and in a creative way. It is the same as drawing by hand, since the artist uses a sheet of paper and colored pencils to create his works.

I personally think that drawing digitally or by hand are two precious and beautiful artistic expressions. Both require learning, effort, hours of dedication and love of art, to achieve the desired drawing. I have learned all this because I have developed in both, so let's admire the art of drawing in all its forms!
