Funny, Exciting and Annoying Moments
Dear Steemians
It was another really horrible encounter of tough and frustrating week for me. We did had a total blackout in the very city of Uyo that lasted almost the whole week and till now.

During the run of this week, there was no i mean no electricity from the PhED or the Ibom Power. These two companies that usually provide us with power, especially in Itu LGA and Itu Road in Uyo, which is always known for having a constant electricity supply by Ibom Power. But now, we have all been left in the darkness. This is definitely the 12th time for this year that the national grid has failed, and it do seems like nobody is probably giving us clear information about what’s really going on.
- Gas Supply Problems
The chairman of Ibom Power sent out earlier a memo to we the user saying that there is definitely no gas at the station to us produce electricity.

- According to him this was because Savannah, the company that's responsible for supplies of gas, has all refused to deliver it. Because of this very problem, our state governor, His Excellency Pastor Umo Eno Ph.D, decided to take his own action. He then order to released a sack letter to the chairman of the Ibom Power, to my suggestion it's probably because of the poor management. Now, the power supply is under the control and affairs of the MINISTRY of POWER of Akwa ibom state.
Finding Power to Charge My Devices |

With a huge impact of our recent situation, has really made my week extremely frustrating. My power bank has not been fixed yet by the engineer, and so there are no charging kiosks near my street to pay for powering devices. This indeed means I have to go out and look for comfortable places to charge my devices. But then It’s usually not comfortable to me as I prefer being at my comfort zone always, and it takes a lot of time and 9f course effort to find a place that has power.
Conclusion
- I believe that with some other steemians like @bossj23, @nsijoro, @goodybest and many others who reside here in Uyo also had same encounter with mine in the aspect of Power(light).
This week has already been filled with annoying moments in me due to the blackout in Uyo. With no electricity at all from PhED and Ibom Power, the problems with gas supply, and also the challenges of finding a unique place to charge my devices, it has truly been a very tough week to Carry out tasks. I do hope things get better in our dear state soon so we can enjoy our electricity again!
