Better upbringings: Past or present?

Hi steemians
This topic baffle me a lot.
Children upbringing of the past and the one of present.

Which is better?

These days, children don't really care about behaviours anymore and there are believe that the exposure children gets from the world of technology triggers many of them non acceptable characters eg social media.
But it is kind of confusing that since the world of technology bring great development to the new world is the fault really from the upbringing ?

This is a question I have been asking for long and still hasn't got the right answer to that question.

I tend to write a thesis on that but I will like the steemians communities to help me with this answers through comments.
